I’m a Canine Welfare Expert, Certified Professional Trainer, Licensed Family Dog Mediator and Certified Pet Nutrition Coach... basically I've spent a lot of time and money really learning the ins and out as well as how to work with all types of dogs. I help you raise, live with, and truly understand your dog and help you both go on adventures from the backyard to the backcountry,

Our programs cover subjects such as Manners and House Rules, Functional Basic and Advanced Obedience as well as Behavior Modification, if necessary. Delta has come along way! She has been out in public on coffee trips and more… and is heading on a hiking trips now.

Some of the concerns before training from the eval form…

“Despite her reactivity, she frightens easily.”
“New items and noises often scare her.”
“A sudden noise will send her running for the door.”

We progressed through the Living with Dogs Framework… focusing on FIT, STRUCTURE, SKILLS and now she’s reaping the benefits of FREEDOM.

I’ve been running Top Dog Training Kentucky for 12 years now and there’s nothing better than watching a reactive fearful dog progress to getting out in public and out on the trails.

I had the opportunity to work with Stella on hiking skills today including what to do when we interact with joggers, other hikers and dogs, etc.

I’m often asked what’s the most important thing to teach your dog… hands down the answer is their name.

Everything follows that.

I caught part of a play session between my dogs that was probably not going to go well… so I communicated they can do anything else but that. It’s not necessarily “training dogs” but more “living with them” which is what we are doing 99% of the time when things happen. I explain it more here.

Behind the scenes at home on a random weekend in our house… (this was last year)
Planet was a service dog in training that my daughter was helping train. Planet had just been spayed and needed some extra TLC so they came here for a visit.
So at our house you may see service dogs in training, client dogs learning how to be adventure partners or just great family dogs, dogs that have been rescued from horrible situations and need a behavioral reset as well as my little pack of monsters… Margot, Scout and Stella!
