Friends of Metro Animal Services (FOMAS) is the non-profit 501(c)(3) fundraising entity for Louisville Metro Animal Services. FOMAS works hard to provide additional dollars for Louisville Metro Animal Services. Congratulations to the new First Lieutenant, Carson Haake! 🐕🐾 He's been working in Adoptions at Louisville Metro Animal Services for the past two years, and he recently became the new team leader for the Animal Control Officers! 🫡

💙 He has a passion for helping shy and fearful dogs. Despite the ever-increasing populations at MAS, he has so much faith in the community and hope for the animals that enter the shelter. He recognizes the strength of caring for animals in need.

🏆 The animals featured on our palette are available at Louisville Metro Animal Services ! These animals are part of our Champions Program! A Champion is an animal that has been under the care of MAS for 45 days or more. Since they've been waiting longer for their furever home, we send them home with a special starter package to encourage adoption. This package helps them settle in with their new family. The adoption fee is also covered by the program!

We appreciate each of you so much! We had the honor of cohosting the Volunteer & Foster Appreciation Party this year. The city shelter faces overpopulation regularly, with just around 10,000 animals coming into the shelter last year. While the staff works hard to rescue and find new homes for the lost pets of Louisville, the Volunteers and Fosters are lesser-known heroes working behind the scenes. The Volunteers and Fosters at Louisville Metro Animal Services are a force to be reckoned with. The people at MAS are some of the kindest and loudest advocates for animals in our community.

The Volunteers and Fosters never hesitate when the shelter needs help - getting dogs out of kennels, overnighting baby animals, and showing up to help with regular shelter upkeep. We can't thank you enough for the difference you make in our community. We hope you all had a good time at our Appreciation Party for you! Thank you for helping restore hope in animal welfare in our community!

Kitten Season is in full bloom, and we're so thankful for the amazing fosters in the community who make sure each animal gets the attention and care they need. If you want to support for Kitten Season, join us for our very special Pinot's Palette fundraiser on June 10! Tickets are $40, and $8-10 per seat will be donated to FOMAS!

Ashley Tunget is known to go above and beyond at work. One of the areas she really shines in is fostering at Louisville Metro Animal Services ! 🍼🐱🐶

Whether she's at work or at home, she's always got animals on her mind. She has helped foster at MAS for almost 15 years now. She joined the staff team 2 years ago, and she's still fighting strong for animal welfare. She's one of the many thoughtful Adoption Coordinators at MAS. She gives her whole team a shoutout because their teamwork is invaluable.

Thank you, Ashley, for helping animals find their furever homes through different stages of the process!
