⚠️ We recently diagnosed our FIRST case of Bobcat Fever.

Bobcat Fever, scientifically known as Cytauxzoonosis, is a serious and often life-threatening disease in cats caused by the parasite Cytauxzoon felis. It is spread through tick bites, making tick prevention so important for both indoor and outdoor cats.

Signs of Bobcat Fever can include:
• Loss of appetite
• Lethargy
• Fever
• Difficulty breathing
• Jaundice (yellowing of the gums/skin)

If your cat is not currently on prevention, now is the time to start. Please call us to discuss the best flea, tick, and heartworm prevention options for your cat.

We wanted to take a minute to introduce a new face you will see practicing alongside Dr. Wells!

Dr. Ann Caroline Whittle (“AC”), born and raised in West Point, Mississippi, knew from an early age that veterinary medicine was her calling. Dr. Whittle is the youngest in her family with four older brothers. Her first-grade teachers would tell you they are not surprised this is the path she chose. She now lives in Starkville with her husband Cameron and their three fur babies — Luna, a Labrador Retriever; Moose, a Golden Retriever; and Spanner, a Dalmatian.

Dr. Whittle earned her Animal and Dairy Sciences degree from Mississippi State University in 2019 before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Lincoln Memorial University. She is passionate about companion animal general practice and loves the variety and relationships that come with caring for pets throughout all stages of life.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find her outdoors, spending time with friends and family, or traveling (fun fact: she’s scuba certified!). Her deep faith and dedication are her driving force and she believes strongly in nurturing what you are called to do.

Dr. Whittle looks forward to caring for your furry family members starting full-time June 1st here at Bed Bark Bath and Animal Clinic and Hound & Co., LLC.

Help us welcome her🐾

As pets get older, dental care becomes more than cosmetic, it’s a huge part of their overall health. By age 3, most dogs already show signs of dental disease, and untreated buildup can lead to pain, infection, tooth loss, and even affect the heart, liver, and kidneys.

Routine dentals help keep your pet comfortable, healthy, eating well, and feeling their best for years to come. This before & after is more than just a clean smile🐾
