Still looking for relief veterinarians in Evansville. Our new VSP hospital opens December 2026, with flexible 6, 8, and 10 hour shifts covering our 8 AM to 10 PM hours, Wednesday to Sunday. Pay is $170 per hour, plus opening shift bonuses for part time and relief shifts during our first 3 months after opening, up to $750 for a 10 hour weekend shift. As Hospital Appreciation Week comes to a close, there’s one thing we want our team to know: every role matters. 💙

Caring for a patient takes so many people working together: from the person answering that first phone call, to the teams providing hands-on care, to the doctors developing a treatment plan, to everyone helping keep our hospitals organized, stocked, clean and ready for the next patient who needs us.

Different roles. different skills. one team working toward the same goal: caring for pets and supporting the people who love them.

We're hiring relief veterinarians for urgent care at our new VSP Evansville hospital, opening December 2026 at 1120 Professional Blvd, Evansville, IN 47714.

VSP has served Evansville since 2018, and we're building a relief team that gets real support on every shift. Pay is $170 per hour, with flexible 6, 8, and 10 hour shifts covering our 8 AM to 10 PM hours, Wednesday to Sunday. For our first 3 months after opening, part time and relief shifts also earn opening bonuses on top of the hourly rate: up to $750 for a 10 hour weekend shift, plus $500 or $1,000 for working 5 or 10 shifts in a month. Full time and part time roles are also available.

Every shift comes with a dedicated technician liaison, a 4:1 technician to doctor ratio, and remote support from our internists by video with live ultrasound viewing. We don't use noncompetes. Relief doctors also get a VSP embroidered vest or jacket, kept at the hospital and cleaned for you.

Today, we’re celebrating the veterinarians who help guide our patients and their families through some of the moments when they need answers most. 💙🐾

Veterinary medicine asks doctors to bring together medical knowledge, critical thinking, communication and compassion — often while working through complicated cases and making important decisions alongside pet parents and the rest of the care team.

Whether they’re evaluating an urgent concern, managing a specialty case, performing a procedure or helping a family understand what comes next, our doctors share the same goal: helping each patient receive the best care possible.

So much of veterinary medicine happens behind the scenes, and our veterinary technicians and assistants are at the heart of it. 💙

Throughout a patient's visit, they may be monitoring vital signs, assisting with diagnostics and procedures, administering treatments, preparing equipment, communicating with the medical team, and making sure pets stay as safe and comfortable as possible.

And sometimes, just as importantly, they're the person offering a nervous patient lots of pets and extra cuddles when everything around them seems unfamiliar.

To our technicians and assistants, thank you for everything you do for our patients, their families, and your teammates every single day.

Today, we’re celebrating the incredible people on our client service team! 💙🐾

When a pet needs care, they’re often the first people a family speaks with. They answer the phone, welcome clients through our doors, help coordinate visits, communicate with our medical teams and guide pet parents through what can sometimes be a stressful or uncertain experience.

Great veterinary care starts long before an exam or treatment begins. It starts with someone listening, helping and making sure pets and their people know where to go next.

This week, we’re celebrating the people who make VSP what it is.

From the first phone call to the moment a patient heads home, caring for pets and their families takes an entire team. Our doctors, technicians, assistants, client service team and support staff each play an essential role in making sure every patient and family feels cared for, supported and informed throughout their visit.

Happy Labor Day from VSP! 🇺🇸🐾

Please note our adjusted hours for Monday, Sept. 7th. Urgent Care will be open from 10am-6pm, while our Specialty Services will be closed for the holiday. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, Sept. 8th.
