Always striving to build that bond more and more!!! Making sure both handlers and dogs are comfortable and trust the other when the time comes for getting uncomfortable!

Humphrey and his owners have been a wonderful addition to group class, and here he's learning how to coexist and be around other dogs in the proper manner. No matter how advanced or green a dog is, reps of healthy stress is crucial to building a bond and trust with your four legged. Murphy, Harmon, and Onun look forward to seeing Humphrey in class!

What you see here is something that can only be achieved through discipline, consistency, and hardwork. Effectively communicating with your dog to complete a task without you, and to process your instructions while executing them, only few understand the complexity of this.... pure communication and trust in a nameless language.

Training a dog is so so simple, yet requires the utmost discipline and an incredible amount of self awareness. This is strictly in regards to you as a handler. Dogs are creatures of habit and comfort, and will not take it upon themselves to perfect their manners or obedience. Every little rude behavior, every little whine, every little crumb taken from the floor, every break of a stay that you let them get away with, will ONLY hurt your bond and lead to further corrections and confusion. You must ALWAYS pay attention, you must ALWAYS read them correctly, and you must ALWAYS treat this with the highest level of devotion and professionalism because your dog will not thrive under any other circumstances. If that sounds like too much to handle, well, build-a-bear is still running their holiday sale.

How many dogs can you spot? 🤔

It is so, so, so important that students take it upon themselves to push and better their dogs outside of class. You are with a trainer for 1 to 3 hours a week..... the rest is on you!!! If you think those 1 to 3 hours are enough to change your dog.... I have some bad news for you. It is a student's responsibility to absorb, listen, learn, and apply everything they hear and see, directly into their day to day.
