🎃👻 BOO! BRING A TOY! 🐾🎾

We're turning October into a month of treats for the shelter dogs at Louisville Metro Animal Services!

LMAS has a whole lot of pups waiting for their forever homes, and while they wait, something as simple as a squeaky toy can make their day a little brighter. ❤️

So Pawfection Grooming Salon is joining the fun with our very own HOWL-O-WEEN DOG TOY DRIVE! 🐶🎃

Throughout the rest of October, we'll be collecting toys at the salon to donate directly to LMAS!

🐾 What are we collecting?

🎾 Squeaky toys! The shelter pups' absolute favorites!

🪢 Rope toys

🐶 Durable, dog friendly toys

♻️ Clean, gently used toys are welcome too!

And let's be honest. How many of us have bought our dogs a perfectly good toy, only for them to decide the packaging was more exciting? 😂

Well, there's a shelter pup who would probably LOVE that neglected toy!

You don't have to be a Pawfection client to participate. Just stop by during our regular salon hours and drop off a little happiness.

🎃 NO TRICKS, JUST TOYS AND WAGGING TAILS! 🎃

Let's see how many shelter pups we can make smile this Halloween!

❤️ Please SHARE and help us spread the word!

Meet Louie. ❤️🐾

9 years young, partially blind, sporting some absolutely magnificent ears, and full of love AND personality!

Louie may be a senior, but nobody told HIM he's supposed to slow down. 😂

As our furry friends get older, their grooming needs change. Some need extra breaks, some need reassurance, and others, like Louie, just need us to keep up!

At Pawfection, we adapt to the dog in front of us. Gentle hands, patience, and comfort always come before the perfect haircut.

Because senior dogs deserve every bit of the love they've spent their lives giving. ❤️

Yesterday at LMAS, we met Susie.

She was dressed like a Target shopping cart. ❤️

And underneath that ridiculous little costume was this incredibly sweet, cuddly girl who just wanted to be close to people.

Susie came to LMAS on July 7.

She’s now a Long Stay Champion. This sweet girl has spent almost three months waiting for someone to choose her.

And after years of being around rescue dogs, sometimes you meet one and just think...

This dog needs a break.

Susie’s body tells a story she didn’t choose.

She’s been overbred. Her teeth are worn down. Her body carries the evidence of litter after litter. Her coat has seen better days. She looks like a dog who has spent far too much of her life being useful to humans.

None of that was her choice.

But spend five minutes with her and you stop seeing any of it.

You see Susie.

Sweet. Gentle. Cuddly. Ridiculously easy to love.

She doesn’t need to produce another litter.
She doesn’t need to be useful to anybody anymore.
She doesn’t need to be perfect.

She’s done enough.

Now she needs a soft place to sleep. A person to cuddle. A home where nobody expects anything from her except to simply be a dog.

Long Stay Champions at Louisville Metro Animal Services come with some pretty amazing adoption perks, too.

Susie has done her time waiting.

She just needs somewhere to land. ❤️

Please share her. Her person may simply not have seen her yet.

At Louisville Metro Animal Services Trunk or treat event! Come see us!

10/03/2026

🎃🐾 Pawfection is headed to Trunk or Treat!

Tomorrow we're joining our friends at Louisville Metro Animal Services for their annual Trunk or Treat at Animal House!
We've got a ridiculous amount of candy, a few VERY large dogs, and something we're calling the Monster Mutt Mash. 👀
That's all we're saying for now. 😂
Come see us, grab some candy and check out all the fun!

📅 Sunday, October 4
⏰ 3:00 PM
📍 Animal House, 3528 Newburg Rd.

And because LMAS apparently scheduled the whole thing on Kevin's birthday, make sure you wish him a Happy Birthday if you see him. 🎂🐾
Trust us. You'll know when you see him. 😂

Louisville Metro Animal Services foster "Maggie" came in for a little TLC today. 🐾
Kevin absolutely understood the assignment. Great before video, explained what he was seeing, and even ended with, “I’ll get an after video.”
Narrator: He did not get an after video. 😂
In his defense, foster mom stayed for the entire groom, he’d already been at the salon for almost 12 hours, and apparently the part of his brain responsible for social media had officially clocked out.
The glow-up happened. The evidence did not. 🤦‍♀️

We hope to see you there! 🎃🐾
(A little birdy told me it’s Kevin’s birthday, too! 👀🎂)

He was told to speak. He stared.
He was told to sit. He was already sitting.
He chased Kevin’s feet, ran into the desk going after a ball, and spent a good portion of his visit with that giant tongue hanging out of the side of his face. 😂
This goofy LMAS foster has exactly the kind of personality that makes you stop what you’re doing and watch the nonsense unfold.
Some dogs are graceful. Some dogs are dignified. And some dogs are… this guy. 🐾

Happy National Pet Bird Day!

Pawfection isn't just for the dogs.

We offer bird nail & wing trims, and Harrison’s Bird Foods is available on request.

And yes, this was a perfect excuse to post a couple of our birds on the business page. 🦜
