Many... many years ago, I was told by a "reputable" dressage trainer that I would never amount to anything in the horse industry unless I got rid of Dolly and upgraded to a "better" horse. She literally said "You'll never amount to anything " to my face.

Needless to say, I did not work for her much longer and Dolly has never left my side. No, I never won any big Championship titles or won any money, but I never cared about that and I still don't.

Despite popular belief, you do NOT have to have countless blue ribbons, buckles, or even the most talented horse to make it in this industry.

If I can do anything for this brutal industry, it is to support those people who are committed to the horse rather than what the horse can get them.

I think about that moment of being told "You'll never amount to anything" and I smile because I guarantee I am filled with more happiness because I have a true relationship with my horses and that is something she will never have. So therefore, I have most definitely MADE IT in the horse industry.

Attention Horse Club!!! I'm so sorry to have to do this but it looks like I have to postpone our last Horse Club Meeting (until we resume in March) to Nov 16th at 6:30. I am not feeling well and need to take appropriate precautions. Thank you for understanding!

What an AMAZING day for our Fall Showdown!!!! Everyone did an incredible job!! Thank you to everyone who helped make today go so smoothly! I am so grateful to all of you!!!!

OK everyone!!! Looks like we are good to go for tomorrow!!! Since it is still calling for rain in the afternoon, I will need all hands on deck in order to help everything go smoothly in between classes! If you are in charge of a horse for the day, please be there no later than 8:00. If you are not in charge of a horse, please arrive no later than 8:45 to pick up your number and shirts! Please remember that helmets are required for this event for all participants! The only people allowed under the shelter and around the horses are students, horse handlers and authorized people ONLY!!!! Lead line will go at noon! I will make some announcements right around 8:45 so please be listening to everything I say through the megaphone! Thank you everyone!!! Let's make this a fabulous day for everyone!
