Serenity Farm Equine Sanctuary

Serenity Farm Equine Sanctuary At Serenity Farm Equine Sanctuary
People Heal Horses
and Horses Heal People Serenity Farm Equine Sanctuary (SFES) is a Virginia Non-Stock Corporation501C3.

We incorporated on May 27, 2016, and filed for non-profit status with the IRS on May 31, 2016. While there are many organizations in the state that are involved in equine rescue, there is critical need that has come to our attention while assisting Virginia Rescue Organizations. SFES’s mission is to prevent equine neglect, abuse, abandonment and to keep equine from suffering from starvation, negle

ct and euthanasia. Our vision includes efforts to prevent neglect, abuse, abandonment, and kill pens. We plan to do this through education and outreach by providing future and current equine owners and other relevant groups with information and resources. We also will offer programs to teach basic horsemanship to help support our organization.

Yesterday was chaos. Four of us were horse handlers so that our wonderful vet, Dr. Emily, could do her work. She sedated 3 so that Ernie could trim them. (two of the donkeys (Mambo and Jose) and Prince) who just can't tolerate trimming without sedation. And, 27 equine were immunized. We didn't get everyone but will schedule a 2nd session to ensure that all are immunized and protected.

Imagine 27 equine in 2.5 hours. Pretty good, huh?

Horse Handlers: Kaiya, Tristan, Bill, Rhondavena
Farrier: Ernie and Suzanne
Vet: Doc Emily

We had our 10th birthday party Sunday and we had a ball. I cooked 10-lb roasts on the grill, giants salads and 52 baked potatoes. Bobby cooked port roasts and made barbecue and smoked cheese. We hosted over 45 SFES volunteers and family members for a good meal and horse-time. I totally forgot to take pictures but Suzanne (Board Member) did. I'm so happy to be able to share out event. We are so happy to have this wonderful community helping horses.

ps.. My lovely DIL and grandchildren were there too! :)

You may have heard about our fundraiser. Some of you donated on Shiloh's video but others couldn't find the donate button. Everyone, we need help caring for 37 unwanted equine and to keep our free service for children and those with disabilities going. Hope you'll consider us.
