They leave their paw prints, tiny marks.

A splash of water, a gentle scrub,
In the grooming tub, they get some love.
Their coats shine bright, their eyes gleam clear,
A pampered pup, with nothing to fear.

From shaggy fur to silky smooth,
Each grooming session is a soothing groove.
With every brushstroke, every trim,
Our love for them never grows dim.

One week ago I adopted Honey formerly known as Octavia from Loudon County Animal Shelter. I have dogs that I’ve gotten when they were only 8weeks old purebred and from a breeder, I’ve also adopted older dogs as well as puppies to young adult dogs. I’ve been able to do a lot of comparing between them through the years. It’s kinda like having a spoiled child that doesn’t know what it’s like to not be loved, not to have nice things, to not have a warm bed to sleep in, to not feel safe, to not feel important. Every dog that I have ever adopted has felt those things and it breaks my heart but brings me so much joy when I’m able to watch the spark come into their eyes, to see the calm come over their body, and the sense of security when they feel loved. Shelter dogs are much more appreciative and loving towards their family because they know what it’s like to not have one. All dogs show love in their own way but shelter dogs, that love is something I can’t explain with words. It’s a feeling and If you ever feel it and I hope you do then you have truly been blessed. Honey came into my home and acted as if she has lived here her entire life. My pack welcomed her with open paws and boy was she so thankful to feel the love of not only her humans but her furever brothers and sister.
Honey wanted me to remind everyone that her friends are still waiting to find their furever families at Loudon County Animal Shelter.
