Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association is now accepting applications for the 2023 Cattle Raisers Roundup, a one-of-a-kind opportunity for select high school students to explore the beef industry from pasture-to-plate.

The Cattle Raisers Roundup is scheduled for July 24-28 across Austin, Victoria, Corpus Christi and San Antonio. Attendees will engage in progressive, thought-provoking activities including tours of cattle operations, beef processing facilities, and legislative offices as well as interactive educational sessions simulating real-world experiences.

We have found several Trich. positive bulls throughout our service area this spring. We urge all of our clients to only purchase or lease bulls that have tested negative for trichomoniasis. If you feel you may have a problem or that your herd maybe at risk contact us for testing or consultation.

As we approach the heat of summer be cautious of grazing drought stressed forages. We had a client turn 60 head of cattle into a field with scattered clumps of Johnsongrass right before dark last night. Within 30 minutes several head were down unable to rise and showing signs of respiratory distress. We were able to remove cattle from field and treat those affected. We can assit you in herd nutrition, forage sampling, and emergency services. Give us a call to schedule a visit.

Ten years ago today, I told Shawna I wanted to apply to veterinary school. The last ten years has been one hell of a ride. We gained alot of new friends and family since then and lost loved ones along the way. I have never regretted my decision but do miss my hair. Looking forward to what the next ten years has to offer.
