With the summer sun blazing, our four-legged members need a little extra care to stay cool and comfortable. While we keep things breezy here at Shelley’s Canine Country Club, make sure to follow these essential rules for your pups at home:

🌅 Early Bird Walks: Schedule walks in the early morning or late evening when the air is cool.
👣 Test the Pavement: If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws! Avoid asphalt and stick to grass.
🚗 Never Leave Them in Vehicles: Car interiors quickly reach lethal temperatures. Leave your fur-babies safely at home!

🚨 Know the Signs of Heat Stroke:
Dogs can't sweat like us. Watch them closely for:
Heavy panting or difficulty breathing
Excessive thirst and thick, sticky saliva
Bright red tongue or graying gums
Unsteadiness, staggering, or extreme or diarrhea
Let’s keep our pups safe, hydrated, and ready for playtime! 🐕💦

June is officially almost here, and Summer Camp is in session! 🏕️🕶️

Our calendar for June is almost completely full, and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome all of our furry campers! Our days will be packed with fun outdoor games, lots of running around, and plenty of belly rubs.

For those booked for a June stay, here is your quick packing checklist:

✔️ Vaccine Check: Ensure Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella are current. Please email us a copy of their records ahead of time or bring a printed copy at check-in!

✔️ Comforts of Home: Pack their favorite treats and their own bed so they feel right at home.

✔️ Fuel for Fun: Bring enough food and medications for their entire stay.

⏰ Check-In & Check-Out Hours:

🐾Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM & 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
🐾Saturday: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
🐾Sunday: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Before you hit the road for the long weekend, don't forget to double-check your dog’s travel checklist!

✅ Ensure vaccines (like Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella) are completely up-to-date.
✅ Make sure collars and ID tags are up-to-date.
✅ Pack enough of their regular food, treats, and any medications for the whole trip.
✅Ensure their boarding reservation or pet sitter is fully confirmed.

If your pup is spending the weekend with us, don’t forget to pack their favorite treats and bed so they’ll feel right at home! We’ll provide all the love, care, and playtime.

Many pet owners prefer kennels two and three for their pets, as they allow smaller and larger dogs to stay together, promoting companionship and reducing stress.
