Losing a beloved companion animal is an absolutely devastating and heartbreaking experience. They were more than a pet; they are our family. The loss is significant, and itโs one that should be honored ๐
Our Veterinary Social Work Team would like to lend a hand in ceremonially honoring your beloved companion animal(s). Similar to what human hospice agencies do, we will use the virtual space to hold a Candle Lighting Vigil on Tuesday, June 30th at 6p ๐ฏ๏ธ
The goal is for participants to obtain validation & normalization of the grief experience & to provide a ceremonial step on the road to healing. Candle lighting vigils can help give us a sense of hope & light when our grief feels like an overwhelming darkness. Memorialization, and ceremonies such as these, can help us honor who & what we have lostโcan help us process our terrible loss and start to heal ๐ค
This free virtual event is open to the entire community, so feel free to share it and invite your friends & family to join.
Interested in participating? Sign up no later than Tuesday, June 23 through our online form, or email our Veterinary Social Work Manager, Taylor, at [email protected], for more information.
