THIS 9-YEAR-OLD GREAT PYRENEES WAS SURRENDERED TO BE PUT TO SLEEP. 💔 The shelter will NOT euthanize him!!

He was surrendered because the owner said he had shown “nippy”/aggressive behavior toward an older daughter.

We can only share the information that was provided at surrender, but what I can tell you is what we as volunteers have personally experienced: nothing but sweetness. This baby has allowed us to pet and interact with him without any issues, and we have not experienced any concerning behavior.

Today at the shelter, a child was petting him and he did completely fine. I was also carrying another dog right next to him, and he was completely fine with that too — he didn’t even react.

Of course, these are simply our observations at the shelter and we cannot know how he will behave in every situation, but we wanted to share what we have personally seen from him.

He did live in a home with other dogs; however, according to the previous owner, he showed aggression toward them too. Because of the information provided at surrender, the shelter would prefer that he go to an adult-only home with no children and no other dogs.

• Lived in an apartment
• Sweet and friendly with volunteers
• Allows handling and affection
• Did well being pet by a child at the shelter
• Did not react when another dog was carried right next to him
• No concerning behavior observed by volunteers so far
