She lay trembling under pine trees near Bozeman Montana her mother gone after a highway accident left her orphaned and freezing. This spotted baby fawn only days old cried softly alone in wilderness. Dr Emily from Montana Wildlife Rescue Center wrapped her in a fleece blanket bottle fed her and promised she would not die alone ever tonight. In the United States wildlife rehabilitators admit over 200,000 orphaned fawns and native mammals every year needing urgent human care nationwide. He stood alone in a muddy field outside Lexington Kentucky ribs showing eyes empty after years of neglect and auction threats. This fifteen year old horse had pulled carriages then was abandoned when he could not work anymore. Our volunteer Grace approached slowly offered an apple and felt his head nuzzle her shoulder asking for love and kindness. In America over 20,000 horses are at risk of slaughter each year and thousands need rescue from severe neglect nationwide. We transported him to our Kentucky sanctuary gave him veterinary care fresh hay clean water and a warm stall filled with hope today. This orange tabby stray had been hit by a car and left alone for days in winter cold. Our rescue volunteer Emily knelt gently whispered you are safe now and lifted her with trembling hands and tears. A tiny beagle puppy only three weeks old floated shivering in cold water completely alone. He reached in with gloved hands lifted the soaked baby and wrapped him in his own yellow towel. The puppy stopped shaking and smiled for the first time. In America nearly 6.3 million companion animals enter shelters annually and countless puppies are lost during storm season. We dried him warmed him gave him formula and a safe crate inside Station 22 where everyone fell in love instantly. Tonight he snores softly surrounded by heroes who saved him. He was left on Route 33 outside Columbus Ohio shivering in a wet blanket too old to run anymore. Our volunteer Sarah from Ohio Animal Rescue found this twelve year old golden retriever abandoned because his family said he was too expensive and too slow. His cloudy eyes still held endless trust and love despite betrayal. We wrapped him warmly held him tight and whispered forever starts now. In America 3.3 million dogs enter shelters every year and senior dogs face the highest euthanasia risk nationwide. We rushed him to our clinic gave him fluids pain relief a soft bed and cuddles all night. Tonight he sleeps peacefully finally safe and cherished. We pulled this sweet 3-year-old Lab mix, Duke, from a high-kill shelter in Houston just 48 hours before his time was up — he's fully vetted, neutered, heartworm negative, great with kids and other dogs, and an absolute cuddle bug who just wants to be loved, but he's currently in temporary boarding and will have to go back to the shelter system if we can't find him a foster or forever home within the next 5 days; we cover all food, supplies, medical care, crates, and toys, so all you need to provide is a safe, loving home and a little patience while we help him find his forever family. This ancient sea turtle named Hope was rescued at sunrise on Clearwater Beach, Florida, by marine biologist who spotted her tangled in fishing line near shore. She is over 50 years old, exhausted, struggling to swim alone. Florida rescues over 2,500 sea turtles yearly, entanglement causing 45% of injuries statewide. Nationally, NOAA reports 8 million tons of plastic and fishing gear threaten turtles annually in US waters. Hope was dehydrated, weak, barely breathing when lifted from waves yesterday morning alone. Today she is safe at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, receiving fluids, care, quiet healing away from ocean noise. She survived decades to need us now desperately.
