Here is a great example of one of the benefits of monthly parasite prevention. Plus, this maayyyy or may not be an opportunity to remind everyone that flea and tick season is just right around the corner. But did you know that some prescription preventatives actually treat mange mites, too?! This poor frenchie came in a couple weeks ago and tested positive for demodex on a skin scrape test. With a prescription strength flea+tick+heartworm preventative, antibiotics, anti-itch injection, and medicated shampoo, the skin returned to normal in a few weeks! Success story! This poor kitty survived an unfortunate accident and suffered some burn wounds. With daily and diligent care, the wounds eventually healed, but they looked worse before they got better.
