Dear Heavenly Father,
Today, we bow our hearts in prayer, lifting up the beautiful soul of Scout—one of Your most precious creations, a loyal German Shepherd, a devoted service dog, and the beating heart of his family. He was taken from this world far too soon, by a cruel and senseless act that breaks every heart that ever knew him.
Scout was no ordinary companion. He was Your gift of grace, sent to walk beside his beloved mom through the darkest days, to be her quiet strength when she had none left to give. As her service dog, he was her constant guardian: alerting her before seizures would strike, never missing a single cue, never faltering in his love. He carried her through the weight of CPTSD and PTSD, a living, breathing comfort who understood her pain when words failed.
He was a little celebrity in his town, wasn’t he? A stranger to no one, greeting every soul he met with a wag of his tail and a heart wide open. He loved his chance ball more than anything, and he made friends with everyone—two-legged neighbors, four-legged pals, even those who didn’t fit the mold. He taught his family, and all who knew him, what love, trust, and kindness truly look like. He was one of a kind, a bright light in this world that no one could ever replace.
Lord, our hearts ache for his mom and dad today, for the empty space where his warm body used to curl up, for the quiet moments where his playful bark once filled the home. We grieve the loss of this sweet, innocent boy, and we pray that You wrap his family in Your tender mercy. Hold their broken hearts in Your hands, and send them comfort in every memory of Scout’s kind eyes, his goofy grin, and the endless love he gave so freely.
To our sweet, brave Scout:
Run free now, over the Rainbow Bridge, where there is no pain, no fear, no cruelty. Chase all the chance balls your heart desires, make friends with every soul you meet, and know that you were loved more deeply than words could ever say. Thank you for being the guardian, the comforter, the best friend that only you could be. Thank you for loving so well, for teaching so much, for being the light in your family’s darkest hours.
You are forever etched in our hearts, sweet boy. May your soul rest in perfect peace, and may your love live on in every life you touched. We will hold you close in our prayers always.
Amen. 🙏
🐾 Forever loved, forever remembered, Scout 🐾
