Big Pet Food spent years telling us that fresh and raw feeding was unnecessary, too expensive, too complicated, and potentially dangerous.
Now they’re selling “fresh.” 👀
Coincidence? I’ll let you decide.
But here’s the part I hear over and over in consultations:
“Raw is too expensive.”
Meanwhile, the same dog may be eating kibble PLUS toppers, bone broth, supplements, probiotics, treats, dental chews, freeze-dried food and other products designed to make the kibble more appealing or “better.”
And suddenly that inexpensive bag of kibble isn’t looking quite so inexpensive.
I’m not saying feeding fresh or raw is always cheaper. It isn’t.
I’m saying the total cost of feeding deserves a much closer look.
Because you don’t need a $500/month subscription box to feed your dog real food.
There are many ways to build a species-appropriate fresh diet that works with your dog, your lifestyle AND your budget.
Maybe the question isn’t “Can I afford fresh food?”
Maybe it’s:
