Rattlesnakes are coming out for the spring, but fear not! They're not going to chase you or your dog :) In fact, if you hear them rattle, it's because they're scared, and are warning you to stay away. If you run across one on a trail, just give it space, and either go the other way, or let it go on its way.
If your dog gets bit, don't panic! Just make sure you get them to the vet ASAP. Rattlesnake vaccination goes a long way in slowing down the spread of the venom; I strongly urge all our dogs to get vaccinated every year.
