Silly boy just got out of bed and flopped down in the street.
Adopt a dog. So many good ones. Get an adult dog you don’t have to potty train them. so many good reasons to adopt an older dog. No reason to buy a F-ing dog when so many are being euthanized.

Atlas meets Papa who is home from NY.
One week and he has opened up so much. 3 days - 3 weeks - 3 months

I gave him space but really he just wants to be right on top of you. What a lover.

Sweet Atticus (now Atlas I’m thinking) he’s an older boy, probably 10, found tied to a tree out in Palmdale California. He’s got angot an upper respiratory infection right now, doesn’t seem too bad. He’s resting in my studio away from the other dogs.

Stay tuned. Please rescue. We have such a problem with over crowded shelters.

Continuation of me getting Birdie and Bear out the door after they have been in their kennels. Birdie the Rottweiler she’s very excitable/reactive on walks and that often turns to aggression and she really needs to stay calm. I’m working on keeping her from loading up at the door. Loading is when a dog gets more and more pumps to go out on the walk and then can become extra crazy and reactive. You have to correct for every little thing to keep them at a level 3 or below and not walk out the door at a 7. When Bird sees a dog she can explode to a 10 so correcting for the little things keeps her in check. Sadly Bird has had a lame leg she keeps injuring that has made running and exercising her hard.
Little Bear has a great temperament and is always happy.

Hope this helps you slow down and work the door.

Excited dogs and trying to get them ready for a walk. This is a dog that really needs the right owners and is probably why she was in the shelter in the first place when they got her.

This is called pushy and bratty attitude and she is super excitable on top of it all. She is lucky she still has a home. The owners still struggle and lifestyle and home life can still be hard for everyone.

She needs board and train but also has a limp and lame leg she keeps injuring making everything super messy.

This is the reality for why dogs go on the prong and e-collars. Don’t judge until you live with a dog like this.

I just wanted to show you some real footage of me trying to get these dogs out out of the kennels after they’ve been in about 4/5 hours. My friend was gone and I went over to give the dogs a break. I’m trying to hold the phone and shoot and just give you a live action vibe of me working with these guys and trying to calm them down. In the video you hear me talking, but I recorded a voiceover with the captions, which is different. I’ll try and make another video of us at the door trying to get the leashes on. You have to be calm yourself to help the dogs be calm.
I’ve worked with both of these dogs and they know me very well.

I spent two very intense sessions to help teach the owners and the dog how to be okay relaxing. A lot of this just happened accidentally the learning of over excitement and then it just takes the dog over the top and the dog never learns how to turn its self off or regulate. If you know what it feels like to have your brain racing all the time, I think of that as how a dog with no rules and boundaries and a personality that doesn’t know how to control it feels.

The behind g is hard for owners, sometimes the dog throws a fit. Sometimes they just need baby steps, time and consistency to change some behavioral habits.

This family wants to be able to do more things together and having a dog that has self-control really makes a difference in everyone’s stress. Rules and boundaries are changing their lives with this dog.
This is why I train.
So excited for the success they’re having and we still have one more session.

Even good dogs need a leader, rules & boundaries. We are working with Pooh-Bah so he doesn’t pull his mom down when he sees a squirrel. We work mostly on cleaning up little things they let him get away with and helping him realize he needs to listen to mom. We also play squirrel 🐿️ on a stick to work his self control and let him get some chase and catch in the back yard. He is very smart and cool but also very strong.

Honor to work with him.

Not my white Shepherd. Not long after Pearl crossed over the rainbow bridge, I was blessed with getting to work with this sweet boy. One of the nicest next to Pearl that I’ve ever worked with. We’re just helping him with some squirrel prayer Drive issues.
