I am concerned that you may be unknowingly putting yourself and dogs at risk by walking them during extreme heat waves. Friends, they require exercise, urination and defecation but not when you can suffer burns ๐Ÿ”ฅ to your feet or hands.

Be aware of FOXTAILS, very dangerous for dogs and cats with possible injection of them.
Stay alert with your pets! Yep โ€” summer is prime foxtail season, and those โ€œcuteโ€ grassy weeds are a nightmare for pets. Hereโ€™s why theyโ€™re so bad for dogs and cats:
Why foxtails are dangerous
1. They only move forward
Foxtails are barbed seed heads that look like a foxโ€™s tail. The barbs work like a fishhook โ€” they can burrow in, but they canโ€™t back out. Once one gets on your pet, body movement actually drives it deeper.
2. They migrate through the body
Because of that one-way design, foxtails donโ€™t just stay on the surface. They can travel from paws โ†’ between toes โ†’ under skin, or from nose โ†’ sinuses โ†’ lungs, or even nose โ†’ brain. Theyโ€™ve been found in ears, eyes, mouth, ge****ls, and lungs.
3. They carry bacteria + cause infection
The barbs drag bacteria with them. That leads to abscesses, painful swelling, and serious infections. If inhaled, they can cause pneumonia.
4. Cats arenโ€™t safe either
Outdoor cats can pick them up on fur and paws. Theyโ€™re less likely to inhale them because their nasal cavities are smaller, but foxtails still get stuck in skin, ears, and eyes.
