BEAR IS FINALLY HOME 🥹🐻💕

Bear has found his forever family and we couldn’t be happier. he came to us from the San Jacinto shelter where he was going to be euthanized due to needing advanced medical care after arriving with a fractured paw. This poor pup was never in public view and marked as urgent as soon as he had arrived.

We’re so beyond grateful to everyone who donated and helped save his life 🫶 And a huge thank you to his incredible foster mom for caring for him for so many months and getting him to countless vet visits while his paw healed.

We still have so many pups waiting and endless bills piling up. If you’re able to donate, every dollar goes straight to the dogs covering vet care, food & training until forever families are found 🦴

💔 SHELTER WAY OVER CAPACITY — ANY ANIMAL PAST STRAY HOLD CAN BE EUTHANIZED. PLEDGES + LOCAL FOSTER NEEDED ASAP 🆘

PLEASE NOTE: We are not the shelter. We’re a 501c3 rescue advocating for visibility to help prevent dogs from being euthanized for space.

A 7 year old (senior), 91lb Labrador Retriever mix… and an owner surrender in a shelter that has no space left.

Owner surrenders have no stray hold.
No one is coming back for her.
And you can see in her eyes that she knows it.

Lailai is a gentle giant who immediately offers you her paw and leans her whole body into you just to feel some comfort. You can tell she was cared for — which makes her confusion and sadness even harder to watch.

She’s shutting down in this concrete kennel.
She’s heartbroken.
And she needs out before her spirit breaks.

A long term foster offer and pledges are the best way to attract a reputable rescue and could help save her life 🙏

If you can’t foster, sharing and interacting helps her get seen.

California’s shelter system is broken beyond repair, and innocent dogs continue to pay the price.

These few made it out because people like you refused to look away when everything was stacked against them. You gave them safety, medical care and the stability they needed to heal from conditions no living being should ever have to endure.

Our hearts also break for the dogs we could not save. But with your help, we can be ready for the ones who need us tomorrow.

Thank you for standing with us and for giving these dogs the chance they deserved.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who supported us this year and hope you will stay in this fight with us in 2026. Until our state decides to take action, we will continue to be their voice.

This came up as a memory on my other account (). 6 years ago today. Figured it’s about time Tofu made an appearance on this feed as losing him is what led me down this crazy rescue path.

His hips got so bad towards the end & he loved his wagon. At the time we lived in DTLA & the lot we parked in was so many blocks away from our actual building. ☔️

He came everywhere with me. As a freelancer I wouldn’t even take jobs if it wasn’t a dog friendly office. Miss this boy so damn much & will continue to rescue as many dogs in need as I can in his honor 😭🖤🐾
