Those sweet gentle eyes looking up at you
Dayton is one of those quiet soulful dogs who can be easy to overlook in a loud shelter environment.
But those are often the dogs who become your best friend forever

The calm ones.
The gentle ones.
The dogs happy just being close to you.

He has the sweetest expression and softest energy about him.
And yes... he still loves his blankets (pink ones)

💔URGENT: He is hiding in his cubby and vulnerable to being overlooked.

The shelter can be overwhelming for a gentle dog like Dayton.

I came back to see her 3x in one hour.
Wanting to snuggle with her more.
Some dogs pull you back.

Diamond draws you in
Talking to her through the kennel...
she pressed herself right up against the bars wanting neck scratches, ear rubs and affection

The tail and butt wags.
The absolute gentle sweetness about her.
The closeness she gives.

I couldn't stop going back.
First once.
Then twice.
Then a third time

I found a Diamond... and not just by her name
10 out of 10 for me

Whether you think she's a small big dog or a big small dog, this low-riding cutie patootie is simply adorable.

Miss TINY arrived at the South LA animal shelter earlier this month after being caught as a stray dog. Her body tells us that TINY has had litters in the past and her puppies were surely irresistible. But now this little mama sits as one of too many abandoned homeless shelter dogs.

Understandably, TINY finds shelter life very scary and confusing and our petite friend really needs and deserves a loving home environment. TINY has been finding comfort in volunteers and braving playgroup with other dogs. (She can feel overwhelmed in large or energetic playgroups and appreciates calm, gentle canine friends).

Today, TINY enjoyed her first outing from the shelter and was all happiness and gratitude. Away from the noise and stress of the shelter, TINY proved to be extremely affectionate and engaging.

She rode quietly in the car, walked nicely on leash, politely greeted other dogs, and made it very clear that she loves to cuddle and be a lap dog. (She also seems potty trained).

Who can help this little lady and get her out of the shelter?

JODI DIES ON TUESDAY 5/26 @ 4PM 🆘🚨
Can anyone help our senior friend, Jodi? 😢

This sweet boy was surrendered to the shelter just a few days ago because his owners couldn't afford to pay for his medical care. 💔

He has an ulcerated mass on the side of his face. Now, after having a home for his entire life, Jodi might lose his life alone in the shelter.

Jodi's owner said he was an outside dog but he was friendly with strangers, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

They said he was also well behaved when left alone. We got to meet him the other day and he was lovely. He was so calm, so gentle, just happy staying near us getting lots of love.

Sadly, this good boy is now 🚨MEDICALLY ALERTED🚨for the ulcerated mass on his face and for being geriatric. He needs adoption or rescue by TUESDAY 5/26 @ 4PM.

Please consider saving this handsome guy so he can get the vet care he needs.

Lucas & Caranel are super bonded! They were owner surrendered due to owner moving. They have lost their home- let’s please keep them together. They can’t lose each other too 😢 At the shelter they’re at risk of being separated. If you would like to meet them, come to South LA animal shelter ASAP! They are both very sweet gentle boys. They are unaltered but will be neutered before they go home.
