🐾 FREE TRAINING FOR JUNE ADOPTERS! 🐾

The Lange Foundation is excited to partner with local dog trainer and behaviorist Michelle Filijian of Balanced Pups Dog Training to help set newly adopted dogs up for success!

Throughout the month of June, anyone who adopts a large breed dog or puppy from our shelter partner, City of San Bernardino Animal Services, will receive:

✅ FREE Training Course
✅ Expert guidance focused on building confidence, strengthening the human-animal bond, and helping your new family member successfully transition from shelter life into a loving, permanent home.

Sophia was rescued from the San Bernardino Shelter. She was found as a stray, limping and heavily pregnant. We had our vet check her out and there was no break in her leg and she was weight bearing well. We quickly got her into a foster with one of our vets and she gave birth to four beautiful kittens. Now that they are weaned and she is getting some much needed time away from them she is ready to find her forever home.

She eats a hypoallergenic diet as she had frequent soft stool in her foster home and it has helped tremendously. Sophia acts very much like a kitten herself sometimes. She loves to play and is very curious. You can easily win her over with a feather toy. She is a sweet and mellow girl who is very excited to find a home of her very own!

In February, we took in 6 dogs from homeless encampment in San Bernardino. We named them after The Outsiders - Darrell, Ponyboy, Sodapop, Cherry, Dallas, and Sandy.

Cherry is 7 months old and weighs 9 lbs. She is very sweet but a little shy at first. She is great with other dogs and would do best in a home with another dog she can play with so they can tire each other out. She loves to play fetch and run around. She is very energetic and needs a lot of exercise. She is the perfect size to take with you everywhere you go.

Quattro is a one-year-old female we rescued from the Downey Shelter. She has some allergies that are easily managed with a limited ingredient diet and she does not require any regular medications. She is very sweet and absolutely gorgeous. She is confident, curious, and she loves to be pet and loved on. We can’t wait for her to find her forever home!

Effie and Madeline are looking for a home together. They are best friends who have been raised together since they were 8 weeks old. They are now a little over one year old.

Effie is amazing. She is very cuddly and very petite. She has a big personality and a lot of confidence. We rescued Effie from the shelter last spring. She was going to be euthanized due to her leg deformity - her right rear leg does not extend and stays tucked in and twisted toward her body (kind of like a flamingo). She requires no extra care because of this, it causes her no pain, and she is otherwise healthy. Effie gets around just fine on three legs and loves to run around, jump, climb, and play. She likes being pet, held, and cuddled. She is often lounging in a bed with Madeline.

Maddie is a perfect angel. She is absolutely gorgeous with a very fluffy tail. She loves meeting new people and she is very affectionate. She likes being carried around. She is very easy-going, friendly and confident. We rescued Madeline from the shelter because she had a ruptured eye. It needed to be removed but she doesn’t mind at all and gets around just fine.

Effie and Maddie are a bonded pair and they are looking for a home together.

Sammy is a very sweet and friendly dog. He looks like he is a mix of Schnauzer and poodle - he is very unique looking. He is easy-going and gets along with other dogs. He’s very cuddly and mellow.

Sammy is 3 years old and weighs 15 lbs.

Blueberry is a playful, cuddly, and all-around amazing three-year-old cat who’s already overcome so much in her young life. Diagnosed with FIP as a baby, this little warrior made a full recovery and she hasn’t slowed down since!

Blueberry is full of energy and curiosity. She adores zooming around with her friends, chasing toys, and running like a pro on her exercise wheel. When she’s not in motion, she’s soaking up cuddles, snuggling close, and winning hearts with her affectionate nature.

Blueberry is the perfect mix of adventurous and loving. She’ll thrive in a home with another playful cat and a family ready to embrace all the joy she brings.

“Jammy” in Irish slang describes someone who is extremely lucky, fortunate or has flukey success. And Jammy is just that! 🍀 Jammy was found in the middle of the 405 freeway, all alone at less than 2 lbs. She somehow survived and was brought to us by one of our beloved long time volunteers, who helped us find her forever home. Jammy sure is a testament to being small, but mighty! CONGRATS, Jammy, and thanks to all who followed her story!

Stevie is a very sweet and friendly dog we rescued from the San Bernardino shelter in April. He gives hugs, loves to cuddle, and is very easy going.

When we rescued him, Stevie had a very large bladder stone and needed surgery to remove it. He is doing great now and has fully recovered from his surgery. He will need to be on a prescription urinary diet for at least 6 months to keep his body healthy.

Stevie is 5 years old and weighs 18 lbs.
