The black bags are gone! Such a huge relief! But also very slightly worried that people didn’t get the message about them potentially ripping and that’s why they were free? But I’ll keep an eye on my inbox just in case. This past week has been crazy! Birthday festivities, ran a 10k with my mom (she got 3rd in her age group! So cool!), dealing with the cold weather, and I feel like I have an excitement hangover today! I can’t believe it’s already Tuesday 😵‍💫

Honestly, if I didn’t have the birthday haze that I usually get on Oct 7th I would realize this post it pretty embarrassing. BUT I didn’t get good sleep last night (thank you massive spider in my bed) so I feel a little silly and thought “why not” I’m 36 today, one year close to 40 and the first birthday that’s loosing its shine a little. But I actively try and make the day a little whimsical for the little girl inside me, went to an open house today. Can I afford a home? Not even close, but today is a day to let my imagination kinda run wild and not be held back by reality. Just one day. So decided to post this, and gonna tuck in for a birthday nap (sans-spider friend, hopefully) hope everyone is enjoying my birthday!

I happen to love to make any part of my day as whimsical as possible. Dog walk: cutest dog poo bags (designed by yours truly) my face workout outfit, and I don’t care what people say, I love this hat. Also can’t see it here but have sparkles on my face. I may not be “aesthetic” but I like random cute things, so I made a random cute thing. Hope you like it and I hope you do what makes you happy every day :)

I can’t speak for everyone, but being outside really is a game changer on a hard day. Not everyone has access to be able to walk outside and feel safe, be themselves, breath clean air, move without pain, or have time to do so. I really wish this wasn’t the case. But if you don’t have a valid reason it’s so good for your brain to go outside and get some sun in your eyes (with sunscreen ofc) I’ve been working all day, scrolling on and off and this is my time to just “be” Bunnh gets to sniff and run and be in the sun too, I’ve heard that sniffing around for dogs is like scrolling for humans? So I’ll now get off my phone and enjoy.

I haven’t had a TON of people reaching out about the backwards design, but enough to have me second guess myself. My dog poo bags have been such a delight designing and I will admit I might have become blind to it the weirdness of anything I do! So if anyone thinks I should change it speak now or forever hold your peace

She’s my bestie. We joke about living the same life but looking completely different. I’m a tall pale redhead and she’s a short queen with the best curls you’ll ever see.

Without question, she has always supported me so much. She was there when I had the idea, she filmed me opening the first batch of my product. There hasn’t been a moment in our friendship that she’s questioned the work I’ve but into Cool Poo Bags.

I save all her voice memos that hype me up and listen to them when I’m feeling down. Cuz they always light a spark in me. She’s one of my favorite people 🥹

I also fell victim to thinking compostable meant that it would just break down over time. Sadly that’s not the case. Compostable means there has to be a very specific temperature and air to break down into compost. Nothing I’ve found (and I’ve done a ton of research on this obvi) of a certified compostable plastic that can just break down without some pretty strenuous work.

Biodegradable is a sneaky little word. And compostable doesn’t mean something disappears 🥴

Here’s what these three labels actually mean:
01 Compostable (industrial/municipal): breaks down in a hot commercial composting facility in about six months. Anywhere else, it’s still a bag.
02 Home compostable: breaks down in a well-managed backyard pile. There are parameters around where to use dog waste compost.
03 Biodegradable: means nothing. There’s no test and no deadline. Technically, plastic is biodegradable too. It just takes a few centuries.

PS: dog p**p can’t go in your city green bin. Want me to explain why?
