There's a pull you feel when you pass a hungry dog on the street.
It hits before your brain catches up. Something hollow and urgent that says: stop. Do something.
Some people keep walking. Life is busy. There are strays in every city and you can't save them all.
But some of us can't look away. We stop. We check our pockets. We open whatever we've got and sit down right there on the pavement while the rest of the city moves on without us.
If you've ever spent your last few dollars on food for a stray. If you've ever stood on a cold street corner wondering if the dog would be okay after you left. You're not soft. You're not foolish. You're exactly the kind of person this world needs more of.
Would you give your last dollar to feed a hungry stray? Real ones know.
