Kinsale came into the session feeling nervous. He was walking far out in front, carrying the weight of making too many decisions on his own.

We focused on connection.

Through slow, intentional movement, we began shifting his energy back toward his human. Every step became an opportunity to build trust, direction and communication.

This is not an overnight transformation. It takes time, consistency, and showing up the same way every day. But today we laid the foundation.

When a dog no longer feels responsible for everything and the human leads- that’s where the change begins.

Working with this pack of hoodlums was great. I always love to practice what I preach in a new pack. The relationship starts the moment you walk in so it’s good to
✅check your energy
✅create structure and boundaries
✅leave the high pitched voices out
The dogs will be so much happier because of this-

Some dogs do not need a higher e collar level.

They need a higher level of connection.

When we focus on just “correcting” behavior, we can miss what the dog actually needs- Many dogs are not lacking obedience. They are lacking a relationship based on just moving together.

Become relevant in their world instead of competing with everything around them.

It doesn’t have to be hard- it’s just has to be intentional.

Relationship. Relevancy. Movement.

That is where lasting change begins.

That is a wrap, Jackson Hole. ❤️
I met some incredible dogs, amazing humans, and made memories that I will carry with me for a long time.
The beauty and nature this place offered was nothing short of epic. Every trail, every mountain, every moment reminded me why I love getting out into the world.
Every time I travel to work with dogs, I learn something new. Every dog teaches me. Every human teaches me. And every experience makes me a better trainer.
Growth does not happen by staying comfortable. It happens by stepping into new places, meeting new people, and being open to learning.

Milo is an insecure, low confidence dog who needed more direction, guidance, and information from his human.

✅we swapped out the harness and long line for a slip lead so we could create clearer communication and help him walk with his human instead of forging way out in front. For Milo, that much freedom was creating more stress and chaos because he was left making too many decisions on his own.

We dialed in the walk and focused on helping him understand pressure and release. My goal was simple: get movement out of him, create clarity, and build confidence.

✅Confidence is not built by giving anxious dogs more freedom. It is built through leadership and clear communication.

Today, Milo started learning that he does not have to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. His human’ has got him🔥

Working with Elsa and Agnes today…

These two came in completely over stimulated in play, and their humans wanted to learn how to create more neutrality.

Voila!

First the walk. Then Jentle Method, place work, play, and most importantly, calling these wild cards out of play and back to a neutral state of mind.

Dogs are not happiest in chaotic states of mind. They thrive when humans step in with calm leadership, information, and direction.

The goal is not less fun. The goal is teaching dogs how to regulate their excitement and return to calm when asked. That is where real freedom begins.

Aska’s Animal Foundation in Victor, Idaho is an amazing rescue organization doing such meaningful work for animals.

What makes them so special is that they not only rescue animals, but also help with behavioral training so these animals have a better chance of staying in their homes or foster homes and out of the shelter system.

I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer and meet the incredible staff.

Their LA partners include MODERNBEAST, an amazing pet store and pet lifestyle brand that donates 100% of its profits to animal rescue organizations. They have been incredible in connecting Aska’s Animal Foundation with shelters and rescues in LA that need support.

They also partner with BARC CLINIC Barstow who are doing such important work for animals in need.
