As our pets get older, they may need a little extra help staying comfortableโespecially as temperatures start to rise.
Senior pets are more likely to experience conditions like arthritis, which can make movement harder and limit their activity. And as the weather warms up, heat and humidity can make those aches and stiffness even more noticeable.
Slowing down on walks or less interest in play
โข Trouble getting up or lying down
โข Stiffness, limping, or hesitation on stairs
These signs can be easy to miss, but they may indicate your pet isnโt as comfortable as they used to be.

โ Keep them at a healthy weight to reduce joint stress
โ Provide a cool, comfortable place to rest indoors
โ Exercise, but stick to gentle, low-impact exercise
โ Make sure they always have access to fresh water
โ Stay up to date on routine exams and pain management
With the right care, our senior pets can continue to enjoy happy, active daysโeven in the Texas heat
If youโve noticed any changes in your pet, weโre here to helpโletโs make a plan together to keep them feeling their best.
