I am looking to rehome my fiancé’s female German Shepherd. We originally picked her up from a lady who watched someone dump and leave her about 2 months ago. He had been looking for a GSD so we went and picked her up. She’s now about 8 months old. Unfortunately we are having to rehome her as she is an escape artist and are not able to keep her contained in our yard. We live off a busy road and she likes to chase cars driving down the road (Natural herding instinct). Speed limit is 65mph and most cars drive faster than that down our road and I couldn’t live with myself if anything happened to her. My dogs know the boundary lines of our property, but even with them out, she will still run to chase the cars. I would prefer her to go to a home with plenty of room to run and roam out in the country. She loves water so if you had a tank or pool she would definitely enjoy that! She’s super sweet, with a definite instinct to guard as well. I have worked with her training wise the time we have had her. She knows come, shake, sit, down and a has pretty good recall unless something else catches her attention. Shes fully house broke as she has not had one accident in our house….just be sure trash cans are not accessible as she does like to get into the trash. She’s great with other dogs (she is a little rough with small dogs as I have a Malti-poo but is great with my Aussies). She loves to play and is very high energy. She is still very much a pup. She’s good with kids (I have 2 grand babies ages 3 and 1). She does jump on adults…I have not been able to break her of that fully. She is very food motivated! She was a little snippy when given treats when we first got her but has learned to be a little gentler, you just have to tell her easy.
Sorry for the long post, but I just want to make sure she goes to a perfect fit home for her. If you have any questions, please message me and I will be happy to answer them.
