Everyone say, “Hi” to Zazu!

He’s been boarding with us for years, and we have always loved having him, but Zazu carries a tough past. Because of a really rough start in life, his circle of trust has always been incredibly small. He’s spent years being deeply protective of his space, especially his neck, and touching him simply wasn’t an option. Patience, routine, and a lot of love always win in the end.
During this stay, something drastically shifted. For the first time ever, Zazu decided I was his safe space. He didn’t just tolerate my presence, he chose to sit right up against me. I can pet him, and seamlessly leash and unleash him. To put this in perspective: in all the years his owner has had him, no one outside of their circle has ever been able to touch near his neck. Until now.
Moments like this are exactly why we do what we do. Building a bond with a fearful dog doesn't happen overnight, but when that breakthrough finally comes? There is absolutely nothing like it.
We love you, Zazu! Thank you for trusting us. 🐾✨
