This winter has hit us hard. The snow is melting and it's time to double down on hatching for trade days. I'm really hoping I can get some nice blue scaled quail for East Texas Poultry Trade Days Vendor registration is coming up soon.
I'm hoping I get at least half of these 16 blue scaled quail eggs hatched. I'm down an incubator right now.

Q: What is the curly gene in quail?
A: The Curly gene is an autosomal recessive trait found in quail. It is different from the frizzle gene which is (an incomplete) dominant trait. In a frizzle, only one carrier of the trait can produce frizzle offspring. In the curly gene, both parents have to be carriers.
