🐾 SCHOOL'S OUT... WHO WANTS TO CHANGE A LIFE THIS SUMMER? 🐾

I had a thought...

We currently have 4 puppies that came to us with very little socialization, and what they really need right now is not more kennel time—they need families.

These puppies would benefit tremendously from being separated into foster homes where they can learn all the things a puppy should learn: that people can be trusted, that car rides aren't scary, that vacuum cleaners won't eat them, and that being part of a family is a wonderful thing.

With kids out of school for the summer, fostering can be an incredible way to teach compassion, responsibility, and the importance of helping others. The lessons these puppies learn could help shape the rest of their lives, and the impact on your family may be just as meaningful.

Texas Star Rescue provides veterinary care, support, and guidance. You provide a safe place, patience, and love.

❤️ Short-term commitment
❤️ Save a life without adopting
❤️ Help a puppy build confidence
❤️ Make room for us to save another animal in need

And if puppies aren't your thing, that's okay too! We always have other dogs looking for foster homes—young, old, small, large, energetic, or couch potatoes. We can help match you with a dog that fits your home and lifestyle.

Foster homes are one of the biggest needs in rescue. Without them, there are animals we simply cannot help.

If you've ever considered fostering, now is the perfect time. Send us a message or email to [email protected] and let's talk about how you can make a difference. 🐾❤️

🧡 Rusty here! 🧡

I'm still getting bigger and stronger every day, but I wanted to remind everyone that while I'm busy growing, we have LOTS of wonderful dogs looking for their forever homes!

From playful pups to sweet seniors, we have a little bit of everything waiting for a family to call their own. If you've been thinking about adding a furry family member, now is the perfect time to take a look at our available dogs.

Maybe your new best friend is waiting at Texas Star Rescue! 🐾❤️

Update: Unfortunately, we were unable to secure this rescue before another rescue stepped in.

Thank you to everyone who shared and offered transportation help. We truly appreciate it. This situation is a reminder of how important transport volunteers are to our mission. There are times we can help, but without transportation, opportunities can be missed.

If you'd be interested in helping with transport in the future, please reach out.

🚗 TRANSPORT HELP NEEDED – DENTON, TX TO LONGVIEW, TX 🚗
One of the hardest parts of rescue isn't always finding space, funding medical care, or even finding adopters — sometimes it's simply finding a way to get an animal to safety.
As many of you know, Texas Star Rescue operates with a very small volunteer team. Our volunteers work full-time jobs, have families, and dedicate their free time to helping animals in need. Unfortunately, we've recently had several situations where we may have been able to help a dog, but we simply didn't have transportation available to get them to us.
Right now, we have a female French Bulldog in the Denton area who is suffering from severe allergies and needs rescue. We are willing to help her, but we need help getting her here.
📍 Transport Needed: Denton, TX → Longview, TX
Even if you can't make the entire trip, transport can often be accomplished through "legs" with multiple volunteers helping along the route.
If you are able to help drive, know someone who travels this route, or would be willing to assist with a transport leg, please reach out to us as soon as possible.
We know everyone can't foster, donate, or adopt—but transportation can literally be the difference between an animal getting help or being left behind.
Please share this post and help us build a larger transport network so that when these urgent situations arise, we can say "yes" more often.
❤️ Thank you for supporting rescue and helping us help the ones who need us most.
If you can help with this transport, please send Texas Star Rescue a message. 🐾

📢 Important Meet & Greet Policy Update

We never wanted to have to implement this, but effective immediately, all scheduled meet-and-greets will require a $50 deposit.

This deposit will be applied directly toward your adoption fee if you choose to adopt. If you meet the dog and determine it is not the right fit for your family, the deposit will be fully refunded. However, deposits will not be refunded for no-shows, last-minute cancellations, or failure to communicate.

For a long time, we only required deposits for adopters traveling longer distances. Unfortunately, we have recently experienced a significant increase in no-shows, cancellations just minutes before scheduled meetings, and situations where communication simply stops altogether.

What many people don't see is the amount of work that goes into preparing a dog for a meet-and-greet. Dogs are bathed, groomed, walked, loaded up, transported, and often taken away from their normal routines. Some of our dogs become stressed or confused when they leave expecting to meet their potential forever family and then return without understanding what happened.

It is also important to remember that Texas Star Rescue operates with a very small volunteer team. The people arranging and attending meet-and-greets are volunteers giving their personal time while balancing jobs, families, and other responsibilities. When a meet-and-greet is missed, it impacts not only the rescue but also the dedicated volunteers who made time specifically for that appointment.

We understand that emergencies happen and schedules change. We simply ask for communication and respect for the time and effort that goes into helping these animals find loving homes.

Thank you for understanding and for supporting our mission. Our goal remains the same: finding the best possible homes for the dogs in our care. ❤️

Meet Cookie! 🍪

Cookie is a 3-year-old, 11-pound bundle of love looking for a family of his own! This sweet boy's favorite things in life are snuggling close to his people and handing out plenty of kisses.

Cookie has done wonderfully with both large and small dogs when given a slow, proper introduction. He's currently living with other dogs and has shown that he can be a great canine companion. He has also done very well with grandchildren ages 9 and 12, though we would recommend a home with older children rather than very young ones.

This handsome little guy is both crate trained and housebroken, making him an easy addition to the right home.

If you're looking for a loyal best friend who loves to cuddle and be close to his people, Cookie may be the perfect match for you!
