We saw you.
We saw you leave this kitten at our hospital today. Our cameras captured you, your vehicle, and enough information to identify you.
We considered turning that information over and handling this very differently.
But then we thought about the kitten.
Maybe you didn’t know what else to do. Maybe you couldn’t afford the care it needed. Maybe you were desperate and thought leaving it at an emergency hospital was its best chance.
We don’t know your circumstances, and we’re choosing not to assume the worst.
So instead, we’re choosing compassion.
The kitten is safe. It’s receiving the care it needs, and we’re happy to say we’ve already found it a loving home.
But we do need to make one thing very clear: please do not abandon animals at our hospital. Leaving an animal without speaking to anyone is not a safe or acceptable way to ask for help, and we cannot become a drop-off location for unwanted or injured pets.
If you’re struggling and don’t know what to do, talk to us. We may not always be able to solve the problem, but a conversation gives us a chance to help you find the right resources.
We’re choosing compassion because we hope there was more to your story than what our cameras captured.
This kitten got a second chance. We hope you understand that abandoning it should never have been the way it got one.
