📣 October is Pit Bull Awareness Month

Did you know “pit bull” is not a breed? It’s a term often used to describe several types of dogs, including American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and mixes with similar traits.

Unfortunately, because of misinformation and stereotypes, dogs labeled as “pit bulls” are some of the most commonly found, and most overlooked, in shelters across the country.

This month, we encourage you to:
✔️ Learn the facts about dogs labeled as pit bulls
✔️ Share their stories to help break down stigma
✔️ Support adoption, fostering, or sponsorship

Together, we can open doors for more dogs in need.
