Your Saturday morning plans just got a lot cuter. 🐾

Paws in the Park is back on October 3rd, and we’re making this year’s event bigger, better, and a whole lot more fun.

Join us at Left Hand Brewing + the St. Vrain Greenway for a 5K and pet walk benefiting Longmont Humane Society. Bring your running shoes, bring your dog, bring your friends, or come prepared to make some new ones. Our shelter dogs are ready to hit the Greenway, but they need some people to run and walk with them. After all, a 5K is objectively better with dogs.

Registration is $40 and includes a Paws in the Park T-shirt, plus a morning full of food, music, local vendors, adoptable shelter dogs, and hopefully a whole lot of public dogs (and cats? who's bringing their cat this year?) ready to make some friends.

Paws in the Park is one of our favorite annual events to put on and this year has been no different. We’re counting on our community to help make this year our biggest one yet, and we want to fill the Greenway with runners, walkers, good dogs and good vibes.

Can’t make it to the 5K? You can still support the animals with a donation through the registration page.

This is your last chance to make your pet a calendar star.

Entries for the 2027 Longmont Humane Society Calendar Contest close tomorrow, September 1st. If you have been thinking about entering your dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, or other beloved pet, now is the time to stop thinking about it and actually submit that photo.

The deadline is tomorrow, and once entries close, your pet is officially out of the running. Do not be the person who sees everyone else's calendar photos later this year and thinks, “I should have entered.”

Voting will continue through the end of September, but enter your pet by TOMORROW and give them their moment. Every entry supports the animals at Longmont Humane Society, so your pet gets bragging rights and shelter animals get support. That sounds like a pretty good deal to us.

Friendly reminder that it is, in fact, the end of August. 🥹🌸

Which means this is the LAST WEEKEND to Clear the Shelters with Pick Your Price adoption fees for our long-stay dogs! If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the time to get these pups home. 🏡🐾

Tomorrow. Sunday. 👀

The Clear the Shelters sale is ON, and we weren’t bluffing about the kittens and puppies. We have LOTS. Plus long-stays, seniors, foster dogs being AT the shelter, and plenty of other animals hoping this is the weekend they finally go home.

Our Expaws crew has been out living their best lives, and we have the pictures to prove it. 🐾🤎

First up, Lady hit the trail and proved that being short and stout doesn’t mean you can’t be an adventure buddy. She was the perfect hiking angel, and this girl is SO smart.

Julius put his puppy energy to very good use at a local Sniffspot. Freshly one year old, he had the best time exploring, taking in all the smells, and getting to be a happy little adventurer.

Junie may be a senior girl, but she’s still going. She explored the park, dipped her toes in the pond, and made an essential stop at Ziggi’s for a pup cup. There’s plenty of adventure left in this seasoned girl.

Mighty spent his Expaw with some of his favorite people, running around without a care in the world. He got to stretch his legs, soak up some quality time, and just be a dog for the day. And naturally, he came back in a shark costume. 🦈

Our photogenic boy Henry put his best paws forward at Golden Ponds, showing off that big smile and some seriously great leash skills. He was made for days like this.

Dune hit the trail for a hike and put on his bravest face as he took in all the new sights, smells, and experiences. Way to go, Dune. You did it. 🥾

And then there’s Koni, who loved running a little too much to slow down for the camera. 💨 She had a blast zooming around, enjoyed some pond time, and then headed home to curl up for some well-earned snuggles.

Every dog deserves a chance to get out, explore, and just be a dog. We’re so grateful to the people who make these little adventures possible. 🤎

Henry is perfectly okay, he’s just had a dewclaw trim and can’t mess with it for a bit. Naturally, he decided this means everyone must pay extra attention to him. Don’t be fooled by the sad eyes, he’s in high spirits.🕺

Come get your own dancing king this weekend during our Crescendo Sale. Henry and many other animals will have $1 adoption fees both Saturday and Sunday. Puppies & kittens will have $100 adoption fees, and boy do we have a lot! We hope to see you then 🎶
