🐶 When It Comes to Your Pet’s Health, One Number Rarely Tells the Whole Story
You may be familiar with A1C testing in human medicine. Researchers are now studying a canine-specific A1C test that could eventually give veterinarians another way to look at a dog’s blood sugar over time.
It’s promising—but it’s also just one piece of a much bigger picture.
When evaluating a dog’s health, your veterinary team considers what you’re noticing at home alongside the physical exam and appropriate testing. Bloodwork, urine testing, medical history, and other findings may all provide different pieces of information.
That’s why veterinary medicine rarely comes down to a single test result.
