💔 In Loving Memory of Dr. Russell Earl
It is with profound sadness and incredibly heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Dr. Russell Earl on September 21, 2026.
Dr. Earl took over ownership of Long Valley Animal Hospital in 2010, beginning a chapter that would leave an immeasurable and lasting impact on our hospital and the community it serves. Under his care and leadership, LVAH became so much more than a veterinary practice. It became a place where generations of families entrusted us with the animals they loved, where clients became friends, and where so many of us were fortunate enough to become part of his extended family.
For so many, Dr. Earl was the heart of Long Valley Animal Hospital. He dedicated his career to caring for animals and the people who loved them. Many of you trusted him with multiple generations of your pets, shared stories and laughter with him, and came to know and love the person behind the white coat.
To those of us who had the privilege of working beside him, Dr. Earl was SO much more than a veterinarian and the longtime owner of LVAH. He was our mentor, our teacher, our friend, and an irreplaceable part of our hospital family. His humor. His stories. His compassion. His incredible knowledge. His love of music. His unmistakable personality, and simply his presence. There are truly no words to describe how much we will miss him.
Dr. Earl loved this hospital, his patients, his clients, and his team deeply., but above everything else, he loved his family. Our hearts are with his daughters, his granddaughter, and all of his loved ones as they navigate this tremendous loss.
We know that so many members of our community loved Dr. Earl and will be grieving alongside us. His impact reaches far beyond the walls of Long Valley Animal Hospital, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have shared so many years, memories, and moments with him.
Services will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Warren Hills Memorial Home in Washington, NJ. Visitation will be from 2:00–5:00 PM, with a service celebrating his life beginning at 5:00 PM.

❤️🐾 An Additional Note to Our Community
Long Valley Animal Hospital will be closed on Thursday, October 1st, so that our entire team has the opportunity to attend Dr. Earl’s services and celebrate his life together.
For those wishing to send a card or note of condolence to Dr. Earl’s family, we will gladly accept them and make sure they are passed along to his family.
Outside of October 1st, our hospital will remain open during our regularly scheduled hours as we continue caring for our patients and community, something we KNOW would have meant a great deal to Dr. Earl. Closing the hospital during regular office hours was something he never took lightly. His patients were always a priority, and continuing to be here for them feels like one of the most fitting ways we can honor him.
Thank you, Dr. Earl, for every pet you healed, every family you comforted, every person you taught, every laugh you gave us, and every life you touched. Your presence will forever be felt within these walls, throughout this community, and in the countless lives you touched along the way. The greatest legacies aren’t only found on plaques or signs. They’re found in the people, places, and lives that are forever different because you were there. Long Valley Animal Hospital is one of those places, and a piece of you will always remain here with us.
You will be loved, missed, and remembered always.
