Sometimes the bravest thing your dog can do is stay calm. 🍃

Confidence doesn't happen overnight, and it doesn't come from forcing dogs into situations they're not ready for.

The goal isn't to make them "get over it." It's to help them feel safe enough to explore the world at their own pace.

Small victories become lasting confidence.

Barley is a 5-year-old Golden Retriever with the sweetest, calmest soul. Whether he's proudly carrying around a bone, chasing after a tennis ball, or inviting a puppy to wrestle, he somehow makes every day at daycare a little brighter.

He's incredibly gentle with both dogs and people, and if you spend more than a few minutes with him, there's a very good chance you'll leave with a kiss. 💛

Barley has a way of making everyone around him smile, and we're so lucky to have him as part of the Wag & Bone family.

Every cue, every reward, and every interaction teaches your dog something. The clearer the message, the easier it is for them to understand what's being asked.

Consistency isn't about doing everything perfectly. It's about making learning predictable for your dog. When everyone follows the same routine and reinforces the same behaviors, dogs can spend less time guessing and more time succeeding.

This summer just keeps getting better. ☀️🐾

July introduced us to so many wonderful new faces, and getting to watch each pup settle in, make new friends, and become part of the pack has been one of our favorite parts of the month.

Here's to a summer filled with wagging tails, happy memories, and plenty more adventures still to come. 🩵

That's why taking the time to know every dog's personality, routine, and little quirks matters so much. It's what helps them feel safe, understood, and excited to walk through our doors each day.

Loose leash walking isn't just about what happens outside. It's about creating calm before the excitement begins.

Small changes before the walk can make a big difference once you're out the door.

💡 Trainer's Note from Meghan:

The right equipment can make learning easier, but it isn't a substitute for training. I often recommend a properly fitted harness. A dual front-and-back D-ring harness is best used with a 2-point attachment leash to better guide the dog. Every dog is different, so the best setup should always match your individual dog's needs and training goals.
