No shade to trainers who use e-collars - they're just not a tool 1 personally use.
And although treats alone didn't create this, they ABSOLUTELY played their part.
This is the product of A LOT of consistency, repetition, clear boundaries and training over time.

If you want your dog to pay attention to you… Start making them pay attention to their treat! 🫣

In dog training it’s quite often that the opposite of what you’re trying to teach will be what helps you teach the thing you actually want! For example when I want to teach a dog how to be quiet I have to teach him how to bark on command.

And in this video you’ll see in order to build better focus, you should start with what your dog naturally gives their attention to!

By honing in on your dog’s natural instinct to pay close attention to their food, you can build their ability to hold focus and then overtime learn to divert that focus on you as you choose!

One word means freedom… The others are evidence he’s close paying attention 🧏‍♂️

He knows exactly what word he’s waiting for… but that doesn’t mean I’m making it easy. 😂

Zeke’s little reactions to each word are my favorite part.

The goal isn’t just teaching your dog to wait. It’s teaching them to understand exactly when they’ve been given their freedom.

I can’t ask my dogs for discipline if I’m unwilling to practice it myself.

Structure. Patience. Consistency. Follow through.
The same things I ask from them are the same things I expect from myself.

Discipline looks different for everybody… But are you practicing what you preach?
