Kitten season is here 🐱 What is kitten season? It’s a time of year where our local rescues and shelters are overwhelmed with kittens being born! A female cat can give birth 3-4 times per year in our climate, having anywhere from 2-9 kittens each time. That’s a lot of cats without homes 🙀

The best way to prevent unwanted litters is to spay and neuter! There are many health benefits to fixing your cats in addition to preventing unwanted litters including reduced spraying, preventing infections, and some types of cancers.

Does your pet need sedatives for the upcoming holiday season? Fireworks 🎆 can cause severe anxiety for both cats and dogs.

In order to receive prescription medications, your pet must be up-to-date with their yearly exam. Since we get extremely busy during the holidays, now is the best time to get your pet in for their annual checkup and sedatives!

We aren’t always able to accommodate last minute requests, so the earlier the better! ⏰

In addition to sedatives - is your pet microchipped?! Many pets get lost over Fourth of July weekend. A microchip will ensure there is a path back to you! We can scan your pet for a microchip and administer if they need one.

Booker is one of our absolute favorite patients! We see him regularly for laser treatments. We use our laser treatments for pain & inflammation, post-surgery, and wound healing. He is the nicest boy and is doing so well!

Meet Melly, the absolute sweetest girl who takes her job as a therapy cat very seriously.

Did you know - cat purr at a frequency between 25Hz and 150Hz. It is believed that this frequency range can help promote bone density, relieve joint pain, and reduce stress.

We give Melly a 10/10.

Meet Otis! He came in for a booster vaccine and f***l test kit. Some puppy cuteness to make your week a little better 🥰

Puppies receive a variety of vaccines including distemper/parvo, bordetella, rabies, influenza, and leptospirosis! Check with your vet to make sure they get everything they need! 🩷

Last Thursday, Long Beach officials declared a distemper outbreak primarily in the eastern portion of the city. Distemper is a highly contagious and incurable viral disease that dogs can catch from raccoons, which is the local reservoir species, or hosts, for distemper in LA County.
As a pet owner, please follow these LA County Public Health Department guidelines:
• Vaccinate your dog for distemper: Call us to make an appointment for your puppy if you haven’t vaccinated him/her yet or for your adult dog to receive the yearly booster shot.
• Protect your puppies keeping them at home and away from unfamiliar dogs until they have completed the vaccination series.
• Keep dogs away from wildlife
• Keep pet food and water indoors
