Russell Rescue Ca

Russell Rescue Ca Russell Rescue CA
is a team of volunteers dedicated to helping unwanted, displaced or abandoned Jack Russell Terriers find permanent homes.

We are a group of like minded volunteers that share a passion for the Jack Russell Terrier breed. Through our rescue efforts we rescue Jack Russells from various shelters throughout California. Many of the Jacks we rescue from these shelters are on Death Row and are scheduled to be euthanized within a few days. If we have an open Foster Home then we will accept a Jack into our rescue program from

an owner needing to rehome their dog for a variety of reasons. For owners needing to surrender their Jack Russell with behavior issues, these cases are handled on an individual case by case basis. We do not accept aggressive Jack Russells or Jack Russells with a bite history. We do not have a facility that is open to the public and rely on our Foster Homes. Our Foster Homes are very valuable to Russell Rescue Ca. Our Foster Homes are people who open their hearts and their homes to a Jack Russell we have rescued. Foster Homes fill the gap between being rescued and finding a forever loving home for these dogs. Once a Jack Russell has entered our rescue program they are taken to a licensed veterinarian to be examined. Any and all health issues discovered are addressed, followed with the necessary treatment. We temperament test every dog before deeming them available for adoption. All dogs adopted through Russell Rescue Ca are brought up to date with vaccinations; micro chipped, and is spayed and/or neutered. Once placed in a Foster Home, using positive reinforcement methods the dogs are taught basic skills and socialized so they will be a valued member of the adoptive family. Once a dog is made available for adoption they are featured on our website at www.russellrescueca.com. Our adoption process consists of:
• Adoption Application
• Home Inspection
• Meet N Greet
• Adoption Fee
• Adoption Contract

Our commitment to the Jack Russells we rescue continues beyond the signing of our Adoption Contract. We are available and encourage the adoptive families to contact us when they have questions, or if issues arise in the future. We will offer advice based on experience, training suggestions based on positive reinforcement methods, and behavior modification based on a true understanding of the Jack Russell Terrier breed.

Update on Russell Rescue CA: On this Giving Tuesday, Russell Rescue CA wants to thank every single one of you that supported Russell Rescue CA and made it possible to rescue hundreds of Russell Terriers over the years from shelters throughout California; take in owner surrenders, and assist other rescues. We couldn’t have done any of this without our donors, volunteers, friends and family that made it possible to save, transport, do home checks, and foster these pups until they were able to find their furever home.
Russell Rescue CA was established in 2014 and was the oldest, active 501(c)(3) breed specific Russell Rescue in California. We all shared a passion for the Russell Terrier breed.
In September of 2021, our President and Founder, Lynn Bonham suffered a brain aneurysm and a traumatic brain injury. Lynn is a fighter. She’s tough and independent, just like the Russell Terrier breed that she loves so passionately. Although she continues to reach milestones with her physical therapy, we found that without our fierce and loyal leader, Russell Rescue CA could not continue, and the Board of Directors has had to make a very difficult decision to dissolve Russell Rescue CA.
As lifelong Russell Terrier enthusiasts, we encourage continued support of the breed through our sister organizations:

Thank you all for helping us make a difference, one little white dog at a time.

Hello everyone! I am trying my best to get the latest orders of "Lynn's T-shirts" out but despite the spreadsheet Karen Wagner kindly made, I'm still missing a lot of info.

So please check your other messages (or whatever FB calls it now) from me -- Jill-Marie Jones.

Thank you!

Hello everyone! Thank you for your interest in Lynn's T-shirts. Unfortunately, Facebook Messenger is not working on my phone, no matter how many times I delete and reinstall it. :/

So please, if you have paid for a Tee (THANK YOU!!!) **please** email me at [email protected]. That way I'll know I get it.

Scruffy, young guy - looking for a forever playmate.
Skippy is a ridiculously sweet pup who must’ve been someone’s dog at some point. How he ended up on the red list at a busy shelter we have no idea. He’s housetrained and good with other dogs, and very sweet and gentle.

The face you make when you’ve been up for adoption for almost a month and have only received one application. I get it… It’s disappointing!
Our two tiny girls, Bellini and Mimosa are still waiting for their forever homes.
These girls are tiny terrier mixes who will probably be under 12 pounds at maturity. Friendly and well socialized with dogs and people, these sweet girls are looking for a home to call their own.

Have a happy and SAFE 4th of July weekend celebration! We’re prepared with frozen treats and CBD oil for the crew to help once the impressive display of fireworks start.

Please bring your pets inside and give them a quiet space away from the festivities. A chew toy, special treat or some crate time can help the pets that don’t love our explosives displays on this celebratory weekend.

Sad news today- this is Eddie, an older typical Jack Russell Terrier that has recently passed away. The best thing about Eddie is that he found a forever home over six years ago with the help of and a Foster that gave Eddie a resting spot for a moment before going to his forever home. Eddie was a difficult terrier to place, no children allowed, no other animals, a really, really fenced yard and he came with a little attitude. Chris Kilkenny gave him all those things and more despite Eddie's "attitude". Eddie is greatly missed and we hope that Chris finds peace in his loss. This is why I rescue, coordinate, and foster. R.I.P. Eddie 🐾💖🐾
