FDA Warns Illinois Pet Owners as Popular Dog Food Faces Nationwide Recall
You might want to take a quick look at your pup’s dinner before serving it tonight. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced a new recall involving two popular Fromm canned dog products due to possible metal contamination.
On August 21st, Fromm Family Foods, based in Wisconsin, voluntarily recalled 3,852 cases of Fromm Turkey Pate Wet canned dog food and 1,973 cases of Fromm Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pate Wet canned dog food.
According to the recall announcement published by the FDA, the company received complaints about metal being found in the food. Fromm said it identified the issue and has made corrections in addition to its existing safety procedures.
The recalled products were sold across the United States and Canada, including through pet stores and online retailers. If you have either product at home, check the bottom of the can carefully before feeding it to your dog.

Fromm Turkey Pâté: 12.2-ounce can with UPC 072705118700. The affected lot code is EP2A3306 551006, best-by date of 032029.
Fromm Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pâté: 12.5-ounce can with UPC 072705132324. Its affected lot code is EP2A3306 551029, and best-by date of 032029.
No other products are included in the recall.
There is some reassuring news for pet owners. As of August 21st, there had been no reports of illness or injuries connected to the recalled products. Still, if you find a can matching the recalled information, it’s best not to feed it to your dog and to follow the company’s recall guidance.
