Cat Guardians A Loving and Humane Cat Shelter Cat Guardians is a no-kill, cageless shelter for cats in Lombard, IL.

For over 20 years, we have matched abandoned and stray street cats with loving families, and provided a permanent home for cats that have not been adopted due to age, medical conditions or socialization issues. We're funded entirely by your generous donations and staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers.

Many of the kitties that come through our doors are frightened, uncertain, and in need of patience and love. Through the dedication of our amazing volunteers, cats like Eclipse can transform from scared and unsure into happy companions while they wait for their own loving families.

We are grateful every day that we can provide a safe, loving environment for the kitties and kittens who need us most. Watching them flourish and thrive is one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable.

Meet Pharaoh – the saddest-looking kitty you’ll ever see! 😿

Just one look at Pharaoh’s soulful eyes and you’ll want to scoop him up and tell him everything is going to be okay. But don’t let his sad expression fool you—this handsome young boy is an absolute sweetheart with so much love to give!

Pharaoh is still settling into life at Cat Guardians and learning that people can be trusted. As he becomes more comfortable, his wonderful personality shines through. Once he gets to know you, he’ll happily roll over for tummy scratches and melt into bliss while you pet his adorable little chin. It’s impossible not to fall in love with this gentle, affectionate boy.

🎉 Exciting News from Cat Guardians! 🎉

After 38 wonderful years in our current shelter, Cat Guardians is thrilled to announce that we are moving to a new home at 31 W. St. Charles Road in Villa Park!

This exciting new chapter will take us from our longtime space to an approximately 2,000-square-foot facility designed to better serve the cats, volunteers, adopters, and supporters who make our mission possible.

Our new Rescue Center will feature:

🐾 Dedicated adoption meet-and-greet rooms where potential adopters can spend quality time with their future feline family members

🐾 A visiting vet room to provide convenient medical care for our cats

🐾 A senior sanctuary designed especially for older kitties who need a safe, comfortable place to call home

🐾 A conference room where we can host animal welfare education programs and community groups

This move represents a dream come true for Cat Guardians and will allow us to help even more cats and kittens in need. We are incredibly excited about the opportunities this new space will bring and can't wait to share more details with all of you in the coming months!

Thank you to our amazing volunteers, donors, adopters, and supporters who have helped make this vision possible. This new facility will be a wonderful resource for the kitties and our entire community.
