It warmed my heart to see so many in our community selflessly volunteer to provide sanctuary to fire-threatened horses and other large animals. Unfortunately, it’s not over yet. Prayers to all who loved the recently fallen firefighters. Prayers to the firefighters still recovering from fire injury. Brave souls, all of those that battle the fire. The MC fairgrounds have generously offered to help and even have some RV hookups available for evacuees. CMU Rodeo’s facility has space. Dozens of private individuals have stepped forward to help. Unfortunately, we are full after taking 11 horses. Thank you Sagers! This is the community I grew up in. Godspeed.

I understand that the fire situation is deteriorating rapidly. They are evacuating people and horses. We have reached maximum capacity. Would anyone be willing to volunteer as a temporary evacuation sanctuary for horses?
