URGENT: These 2 senior small bonded girls die Friday. Found tied to a mailbox, UNACCEPTABLE. My heart breaks for them and I am not in a position nor have space to be their hero!

RIP sweet girls. You didn't deserve this ending :(

Rose and Blanche are now URGENT! We've been told their time is up Friday and they must be out by noon :( Please share them. We are hoping for a miracle

These senior ladies shouldn't be spending their days on a cold kennel floor. Can anyone help them out?

The 2 'Golden Girls' - Rose (right) and Blanche (left) found tied to someones mailbox. Rose is approx 35 lbs and Blanche is approx 25 lbs. Both are seniors and very bonded. Both have several skin tags, cysts/fatty tumors and teeth that could use a dental. That said they are both sweet as pie and get around great, no mobility problems noticed at all. Really hoping someone can get them out of here and into a comfy warm bed where they belong.

My goodness, have not posted anything to Lucky Day since June!! Lots of adoptions and lots of saved animals. Been a busy summer. Abt to get caught up with things and will be posting some of both. Thanks for your support and keep an eye out for some of our summer activities!!

Please forgive me for not posting and keeping everyone updated on what we have been up to. I have lots of Happy Adoption photos to share with y'all!! Also newbies that have came into our organization and looking for homes will be posted soon. We are about to pick up 10 puppies that were taken to very high kill animal control without their Mama in a very rural part of GA. We need donations to help with the milk replacement they will have to have. About to share the post. Please give if you are able. LaBella was adopted this month!! She is 1 of the 11 Chihuahua we rescued from the 27 that was turned in to animal control from 1 home. Happy Tails little one!!

If you have never read this, please do. It truly explains and hits on the core of being an animal rescuer. I feel like I wrote it myself. The author for sure lives our daily life. It's hard but it's also soooo worth it!!

RESCUE, EXPLAINED.....

The neglect changes you.
The abuse hardens you.
The suffering breaks you.
The ignorance angers you.
The indifference disturbs you.
The injustice destroys you.

On a daily basis…your faith will be tested.
Your heart will be wounded....
Your soul will be altered.

On a weekly basis…you’ll question yourself.
You’ll question your strength.
You’ll question the world.

On a monthly basis…you’ll fall down.
You’ll get up.
You’ll go on…

On a yearly basis…you’ll look back…
You’ll see faces…
You couldn’t save them.
You’ll learn to mourn.
To grieve.
To sob.
You’ll learn to trust a little less.
To do a little more.
To fight a little harder.
You’ll learn to try.
To hope.
To pray.
You’ll learn to fail.
To succeed.
To accept.
You’ll learn when to hold on.
When to give up.
When to let go.
You’ll learn who you are.
What you stand for.
Why that matters.

Then… at times… you’ll forget why you matter.

How you loved them…
How they loved you, too.
And as you look back…
You’ll want to move forward…
For them… and because of them.

In your darkest hours, you’ll look around…
To find the differences made…the hope given…and the lives saved…
Because you existed.
In those moments, when you look into their eyes…every doubt will be erased.
Every question will be answered.
Every worry will subside.
Because in that instant…in each of your hearts…
You both share the very same thought: “Every bit of pain was worth it…for this moment here with you.”

Rescue is pain.
Rescue is joy.
