We are a large and Small Animal Practice....Large we mean cows, pigs, horses, goats, etc and Small we mean cats and dogs. No work on snakes and birds but hey we have worked on ducks and even pet skunks. There are 12 of us working at the animal hospital with 5 employees and 1 or 2 doctors working daily. I would call our facility full of fast pace energy! We are extremely busy during open hours. If we do get a break you will find us loving on the animals and/or eating! lol Cass County Animal Hospital is a fun place to be. We hope we can bring some of that fun here on facebook.

🐾💗 VET TECH WEEK SPOTLIGHT: OUR FUTURE VET TECHS! 💗🐾

We’re excited to shine a little spotlight on two of our girls who are currently working toward becoming veterinary technicians! 🩺🐶🐱

💕 Mackenzi is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program and is working through her externship with us! We love being part of her journey as she continues learning and gaining hands-on experience.

💕 Olivia is currently attending the Veterinary Technician Institute of Indianapolis and is on track to graduate in October 2027! 🎓 Even with school keeping her busy, Olivia spends her breaks and some weekends working at the clinic to gain extra hands-on experience and continue learning everything she can about veterinary medicine. 🩷

We’re so proud of both of them for putting in the hard work and dedication it takes to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Vet tech school is no easy task, and we’re excited to watch them learn, grow, and continue building their skills! 🩷

🐾💗 VET TECH WEEK SPOTLIGHT: CHELSEA! 💗🐾

🐾🩺Today, we’re introducing you to Chelsea! 🐶🐱

Chelsea has been part of the Cass County Animal Hospital family since 2017! She grew up in Galveston, Indiana, attended Penn Foster for her veterinary technician education, and is currently preparing to take her certification exam. 🎓

Chelsea has always had a love for animals, and her favorite part of the job is helping sick pets feel better and watching them recover and go home to their families. ❤️

When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her spending time with her kids and friends, enjoying live music, or hanging out with her own family of dogs, cats, and chickens! 🐶🐱🐔

A few fun facts about Chelsea:
🌮 Favorite food: Mexican
🥤 Favorite drink: Diet Coke (definitely NOT coffee or Alani! 😂)
🎶 Favorite hobby: Going to see live bands
🏰 Dream destination: Exploring castles in the UK
🌙 She’s definitely a night owl!

🐾💗 VET TECH WEEK SPOTLIGHT: KARAH! 💗🐾

🐾 🩺 Today, we’re introducing you to Karah Baumgardner, Registered Veterinary Technician! 🩺🐶

Karah has been part of the Cass County Animal Hospital family for 8 years! 🎉 She grew up in Kewanna, Indiana, and attended Vet Tech Institute at IBC in Fort Wayne.

Outside of work, Karah is married to her high school sweetheart, Trever, and they have two adorable kiddos, Tatum and Amelia! ❤️ Her family also includes two dogs and two cats: Chip, an 11-year-old Beagle she adopted while in vet tech school, Gunner, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and their kitties Annie and “One Eyed Jack”! 🐶🐱

A few fun facts about Karah:
🥤 Favorite drink: Alani, of course! The CCAH crew already knows this! 😂
🌙 Morning person or night owl? Night owl all the way!
🐾 Favorite clinic memory: Helping deliver 15 Mastiff puppies via C-section with literally the ENTIRE clinic staff! Now that’s a team effort! 🐶🐶🐶

Karah loves the hands-on side of veterinary medicine, including placing IV catheters, monitoring anesthesia, caring for hospitalized patients, and educating clients.

Her advice for anyone wanting to become a vet tech? Stay level-headed, be respectful, keep learning, and most importantly, stay HUMBLE! ❤️

We’re so thankful to have Karah as part of our team and for the knowledge, dedication, and care she brings to our patients every day! 🩷

🐾💗 Happy Vet Tech Week! 💗🐾

This week, we’re celebrating and showing some extra love to our amazing veterinary technicians at Cass County Animal Hospital! 🩺🐶🐱

Our vet techs are such an important part of our team. From caring for hospitalized pets and assisting with procedures to comforting nervous animals and educating their owners, they do SO much behind the scenes every single day to keep our patients happy and healthy!! ❤️

We’re so thankful for all the love, patience, hard work, and dedication they bring to what they do. We know the days aren’t always easy, but we’re lucky to have such a great team who truly cares about the animals and families who walk through our doors. 🩷

We’ll be showing our vet techs a little extra love this week, so keep an eye out for some fun posts to help you get to know them a little better! 🐾

We are looking for a veterinary assistant to join our team!

If you love animals and enjoy a fast-paced environment, this could be a great fit. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, cleaning and preparing exam rooms, helping with procedures, kennel work and supporting our veterinarians and clients.

✔️ Must be dependable, compassionate, and a team player
✔️ Comfortable working with animals of all sizes
✔️ Ability to stay organized and handle a busy schedule
✔️ Must be able to lift at least 40lbs
✔️ Must be able to work weekends

✨ Experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right person!
