Today, Charlie is practicing his real-world training outside Lowe’s, where shopping carts are rolling by, people are coming and going, doors are opening and closing, and distractions are everywhere!

🐶 Why is this type of training so important?

Dogs don’t automatically know how to remain calm and confident in busy environments. These skills take patience, practice, and positive experiences!

Big environments can feel overwhelming for little dogs, but confidence is built one positive experience at a time!

Meet Charlie! 🐶

Today, Charlie is practicing staying between my legs while surrounded by the sights, sounds, and distractions of Lowe’s.

This exercise gives Charlie a familiar position to return to while we work on building confidence, focus, and calm behavior in new environments.

We’re not rushing the process. We’re allowing Charlie to learn at his own pace, using science-based, positive reinforcement training!

Because successful dog training isn’t just about obedience. It’s about helping dogs feel safe, confident, and comfortable in the world around them.
