🐾 Reintroducing Moxie! 🐾

Moxie has been with us for 154 DAYS! She’s officially one of our LONGEST cat residents. ❤️

Moxie is a beautiful 2-year-old tabby who came to us with her kittens, who were all adopted LONG ago. 🥹 When will it finally be Moxie’s turn?

This sweet girl has so much love to give! She adores food, playing, and lounging around in her favorite cat trees. 🌳🐱

Moxie is FIV-positive, but FIV is NOT a death sentence! FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) affects a cat’s immune system and is spread primarily through deep bite wounds. Many FIV-positive cats live long, happy lives! It is not contagious to people or dogs, and it generally poses little risk to other cats who peacefully coexist without fighting.

Because Moxie can be a little rough with other cats, we believe she’d thrive best as the queen of her own castle in an only-cat home! 👑

You know what’s ALMOST better than finding your perfect dog? Finding your best friend while you wait for your forever home! 🐶💕

Cole, our newbie Mixed Breed (1–2 years old), and Big Mama, our long timer Pit mix (1.5 years old) have become the best of friends, and we couldn’t be happier watching their friendship blossom! 🥰

Cole has done great with every dog he’s met so far, and Big Mama continues to make bigger and bigger strides when it comes to getting along with other dogs. We’re excited to see her progress continue!💗

We’re still getting to know Cole and learning what life in a home might look like for him, but we’ve recently gotten some exciting updates about Big Mama! When she recently visited a home, we learned that she’s housebroken and settled in like she’d lived there her whole life! She had one tiny p*e accident, but otherwise? No issues whatsoever! What a good girl!🥹

🐱 Meet Our Community Room Floor Cats! 🐱

Gage and Libby Lu are ready to meet YOU! 💕 These two adorable cats are hanging out in our community room, waiting for visitors and hoping to find their forever homes!

🐾 Gage
Gage is our second-longest cat resident, and we aren’t sure why! This handsome boy came to us as a transfer from another shelter. When he first arrived, he needed some help learning gentle play with other cats, but he’s come such a long way! He now loves playing with his friend, Libby Lu. Gage would do great in an active home and can live with other cats who enjoy playful company. He’s been waiting long enough — let’s find this boy his forever family! ❤️

🐾 Libby Lu
Libby Lu is a beautiful 1-year-old girl who came to us as a stray. She’s the definition of a perfect kitty! 😻 She’s a great eater, loves cuddling on laps, enjoys affection, and gets along wonderfully with other cats. Libby is ready to find her forever home and shower her new family with love!

🐾 OUR LONGEST RESIDENTS ARE STILL WAITING FOR THEIR FOREVER HOMES! 🐾

Some of our amazing animals have been waiting weeks, months, and even over a YEAR for someone to choose them. Meet HumaneCNY’s longest residents, who are all ready for their next chapter!

🐶 LAINEY — 450 DAYS

Lainey is a sweet 4-year-old Husky/Pit Bull mix who absolutely adores people! ❤️ She recently went out to lunch with some of our volunteers and did amazing! Lainey is a strong, energetic girl who would thrive with an active family ready to include her in their adventures. She can become overstimulated around other dogs, but with a carefully selected canine companion, she may be able to have a dog sibling. After 450 days, Lainey deserves a family of her own!

🐶 ORIE — 89 DAYS

Orie is a handsome 1-year-old Black Lab mix who just keeps growing! 🖤 This big boy LOVES other dogs and would be thrilled to have canine siblings. Unfortunately, Orie escaped his previous home and found his way back to us. Since then, we’ve been working on his crate training and separation anxiety to help set him up for success. He’ll even go home with his very own crate that he’s familiar with! Orie is a strong guy who’s still learning his leash manners, but with patience, consistency, and love, he’s ready to find his people.

🐱 FORKLIFT — 238 DAYS

Meet Forklift, our handsome, chubby-cheeked, 1-year-old boy! 🧡 This lovable guy has a few medical needs, including FIV, asthma, anxiety, and a special diet to support his bladder health. But don’t let that list fool you — Forklift is still just a cat who wants to play, be loved, and enjoy life! His favorite activities include chasing wand toys and anything that looks remotely like a worm. And those CHEEKS?! Forklift is so deserving of a home that will love him exactly as he is.

🐱 GAGE — 134 DAYS

We honestly don’t know how Gage has been waiting this long! 🥹 This handsome 1-year-old boy is friendly, affectionate, playful, and absolutely loves attention from people. He’s been working on his manners around other cats and could potentially thrive with another active, playful feline friend. Gage has so much love to give, and we can’t wait for someone to discover just how special he is!

🐾 Cole – ~1 year old Shepherd mix (53 pounds)
Brand new, sweet and silly and loves to play with other dogs and his people!🥰

Elaine is a beautiful 3-year-old girl who came to us as a transfer, and she’s hoping her forever family is right around the corner! 🐾

Sadly, Elaine has been continually overlooked, and we have no idea why! We’ve had some wonderful adoptions recently, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that Elaine will be next! She’s already been waiting 54 days for someone to choose her.

Elaine is a sweet, loving girl who deserves a family of her very own. She can get along with other cats with proper introductions, and we think she’d make a wonderful addition to just about any home!
