What causes matting in your dog’s coat?

1. Lack of maintenance.�Not brushing regularly, or brushing without the right technique (such as line brushing), allows the hair to tangle and form mats.

2. Friction.�Mats form first in high-friction areas: the armpits, behind the ears, the rear end, and anywhere the coat rubs from play, petting, or from a harness or collar.

3. Damaged coat.�Hair that has already been dematted is weaker and more prone to matting again quickly.
