Hello Littleton! So there has been a lot of talk lately about new vaccination laws that the animal facility agency, PACFA, wants to implement. This will require ALL Colorado grooming shops to enforce multiple vaccines (Colorado only requires rabies), and have proof of for each dog. We will not be able to groom the dog without the threat of fines or being shut down by the state if we do not have this information. We have had representatives try and speak for the grooming industry at these meetings. We have many clients that have a hard time with the cost of grooming, and with these changes, this will become harder. Grooming shops, veterinarians and boarding facilities have written letters, without change. We have been told to have clients write in as well. If this is going to cause you hardship, here is a link that outlines the proposed changes, and a petition to sign if you would like.

Meet Vlad! Vlad is a trooper. Unfortunately, he had both rear dewclaws completely cut off, needing vet care, at his last shop. He was a little nervous about his back legs being handled his first time here (totally understandable) but today, he had no problems! It is our responsibility as groomers to know what and where we are cutting, and to take care of these moving animals. Luckily, Vlad wasn't traumatized by the experience and is great for grooming!
