It’s Razorback GAMEDAY🏈🐗 Woo Pig Sooie!
A lot of you may not know that this photo was taken 10 years ago. Shadow was my senior soul girl, a loyal black lab with hot breath, room-clearing farts, and a heart of gold. She loved swimming, fetch, chasing squirrels, and hanging out the window. She kicked cancer’s ass and lived a full amazing life, passing at 17 from congestive heart failure, just a month after the death of her dad and my partner, Joseph Casey.
She had the best last day full of all of her favorite things. The park, a photo shoot, ice cream cones, and one last dip in the river. Then circled the room to tell everyone goodbye (including Mr. Kitty) before her body let go. I know Joseph was calling her home. Their souls are playing a badass game of fetch right now, no doubt.
After her passing, I had a special ring made with her ashes. I’ve worn it on my finger every day for the past six years that she’s been gone. Shadow inspired me to start a pet business and well, the rest is history. I love talking about her. I miss them both so much. While it feels like a separate lifetime, I’m grateful for the years I had with them. My love and grief shaped the person I am today.
So I’m celebrating 6 years of business, 2 years of registration, and a career that started from a broken heart and a hobby. In honor of Shadow Casey🪽 Thank you all for sharing your babies with me, healing my soul, and being a part of this journey. I am blessed🖤
My angels. May your legacy live on.
